Locating Information

There are two features of this site designed to help find information, they are the Site Map, and Search Engine.

Text Size

If you would like to change the default size of the text used on the website, you can click for Large or Small or Medium (default view). This option is available at the top of every page on the site. It is also possible to change text size by adjusting your browser view. In Internet Explorer or Firefox choose View / Text Size in the menu bar and adjust size to your comfort level.

Document Viewers

In order to view certain documents available on the SJC Web Site, you will be required to have the corresponding document viewers installed on your computer. All the necessary document viewers are free to download, install, and use. Below is a complete list of the document viewers.

Site Settings

The St. Johns County Public Library System Web Site has been optimized for viewing with MS Internet Explorer 6 with a minimum resolution of 800x600 pixels. Great efforts have been put into making this web site capable of being viewed with similar results in all browsers, however, the best results should be achieved when viewed with MS Internet Explorer 6.

This web site uses Javascript with the intention of enriching the user's experience. In order to enjoy the enriched experience offered by Javascript, you will need to have the Java runtime installed on your computer and enabled on your browser.

PDF Troubleshooting

This website makes use of Adobe's PDF file format. If you are having difficulty accessing pdfs, please review the following information:

There are known problems that Microsoft has identified with Internet Explorer settings and reading pdfs. Details regarding this problem may be found at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q177321/
     
Some other ideas we can suggest:

  • Click on your refresh/reload button to see if the blank page will appear.

  • Right-click on the pdf link and choose "save target as" to save the file on the hard drive.
