Our Mission
The St. Johns County Public Library System will provide a variety of services to meet the community-based needs of all its citizens in a friendly and courteous manner.

Our Advisory Board

The Library Advisory Board is a seven member board appointed by the County Commission. The Board meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9:30am in the Administrative meeting room of the Southeast Branch Library. The public is invited to attend.

Library Loan Periods

Library items may be renewed up to 2 times, unless there is a hold on the item. No renewals are allowed if the item has been requested by another patron.

*The policy governing non-print library materials is to provide individual patrons the optimum convenience of use of these materials, at the same time ensuring their reasonable availability to all patrons.  Patrons are reminded that non-print items do wear out and occasionally suffer from high-use damage.  If problems arise, patrons are encouraged and advised to report item malfunction to library staff as soon as possible.  *A Reminder:  The Library is not liable for damage to machines used to play/view non-print items. Library Fines and Fees

newPrinting Fees

Computer printing: $0.15 per page after the first 10

Microfiche/film printing: $0.15 per page after the first 10

Overdue Materials:

Books, Audiobooks, Music CDs, Magazines :

  • $0.10 per day per item
  • $5.00 maximum fine per item

Video Cassettes & DVDs:

  • $1.00 per day per item
  • $5.00 maximum fine per item

Lost / Damaged Materials:

  • Replacement cost plus $6.00 processing fee.

  • An exact replacement for a lost item will be accepted, but a $6.00 processing fee will still be assessed.

  • Damaged materials needing bindary are a minimum $8.00 fee.

  • For items no longer in print or available (fiction or non-fiction), the default replacement cost is $33.00 plus $5.00 processing fee / for DVDs or VHS $27.00 plus $6.00 processing fee/ for childrens books $22.00 plus $5.00 processing fee and for CDs $22.00 plus $5.00 processing fee.

<emtpy> Non-(Florida) Residents Cards may be obtained by paying a non-refundable annual fee of $30.00, a 6 month card fee of $15.00, a 3 month card fee of $7.50.
