Did you recently get a digital camera and have no idea how to use it? Do you want to go above and beyond "auto-mode," and begin taking photos like a pro? Come learn some basic skills and the tricks of the trade to enter the world of digital photography with a flash!

If you are between the ages of 11-18, and own or can borrow a digital camera, the Main Library invites you to take and share your photos of St. Augustine as part of our teen summer programming.

How to Participate

Join us most Wednesday mornings for alternating courses of Basic Computer Class and Internet Class from 10:00 - NOON.

Pre-walkers and caregivers are invited to this gentle introduction to the library!

HASTINGS: Summer Heat in Hastings Photo Project: Camera Hand-out Starting at 10:00 A.M.

Youth between the ages of 12 and 18: You'll get one camera and 10 days to show us what summer means to you! The library will be handing out 10 disposable cameras with instructions to the first ten people who enquire.  Your assignment is to take pictures and return the camera to the library by July 10th at 6:00 P.M. Photos will be displayed at the library on the evening of July 30th. Teens with digital cameras may also participate via the web. Call Michelle Kiley for details at 904-827-6970. SOUTHEAST: AARP Defensive Driving Class, 1:00-5:00 P.M.

Class size is limited, so call the SE Library at 827-6900 to sign up.  The cost is $10.00 per person.  Bring the check the day of the class and make it out to "AARP".

SOUTHEAST:  Children's Summer Film Festival, Disney's "Bolt" (PG), 7/01 2:00 P.M.

Super-dog Bolt, the star of a hit TV show, is accidently shipped from Hollywood to New York City. He begins his biggest adventure yet on a cross-country journey through the real world to get back to his owner and co-star Penny. Along the way Bolt discovers he doesn't need superpowers to be a hero.

BARTRAM TRAIL:  Family Storytime @ 10:15 A.M. on June 16 and June 30

This program is geared toward families with young children.  Caregivers and children alike will enjoy stories, fingerplays, action rhymes, music, movement and more!

Bring your friends and come watch "Igor" (rated pg) on our big screen.  Popcorn provided; bring your own drink. 

BARTRAM TRAIL:  Children’s FLYP Program:  “Bob Drost 3-D Art” @ 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 2 held at Switzerland Community Church (2179 State Road 13)

Mr. Bob will amaze you with art that leaps from the page!  Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child.  Strollers and street shoes will not be permitted in the building.  Contact the library at 827-6960 for additional information.
