  • Teen Summer Reading Program

    Teen LoungeJune 1 - August 4

    Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's 1st Teen Summer Reading Program will run from June 1 - August 4. All middle school and high school students (rising 6th - 12th graders ONLY) are invited to participate in your own summer reading program! Simply read whatever you want and fill out a review on each book read to be entered into a weekly raffle. Review forms are available at the Reference Desk. Weekly prizes are brand-new copies of Scholastic titles for middle and high school youth purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library! All book reviews will be entered into the grand prize raffle in August. Please call the Library at 827-6950 with any questions. PLEASE NOTE:  Our Teen Summer Reading Program runs concurrently with our Adult Summer Reading Program, both sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library!

     

  • Taking a Leap of Faith Into the Free-Lance Jungle ... And Surviving!

    From occasional articles to regular features for newspapers, magazines, Susan D. Brandenburg will share how to start and how to progress. Her talk will include the challenges involved with having no regular paycheck when you go from a regular job, to writing full time, to the diverse free-lance writing jobs she has tackled. She will also discuss the niche she has found as a well-paid biographer. Susan is a writer with more than thirty years experience. Sponsored by the Ancient City Chapter of the Florida Writers Association and the Friends of the Main Library. Program is FREE and open to the public.

     

  • Yoga Experience

    Did you know Yoga improves physical flexibility, strength, balance, and stamina? At this FREE session we’ll explore practical, easy ways to take care of the body, reduce stress and relax, improve breathing and energy levels. Whatever your hobbies or occupation, yoga can be a part of your unique, changing lifestyle. First timers are very welcome. Experience yoga with respect and gentleness in a comfortable environment. Come meet nice, new people or bring a friend!

     

  • Teen Financial Literacy Workshop (Ages 15-20)

    Saturday, July 21 @10am to 3pm CANCELLED

    MoneyAre you starting your first job, graduating from high school, or heading off to college?  Whatever the reason, every teen needs to learn how to manage money.  The St. Johns River Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the St. Johns County Public Library System are teaming up to offer this full day (10 am to 3 pm) workshop for teens age 15-20.  Subjects covered will be budgeting, saving, personal investing, using credit wisely, avoiding identity theft and more!  Class size is limited, so call us at 827-6970 to register!  Lunch will be provided.
