Saturday, March 2 from 10 am - 12 pmAll children are invited to join us for a special Teens Read with Kids - this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club! We'll have a special display of Dr. Seuss books to choose from, if you wish, as well as a Dr. Seuss sticker for every child who participates. Select what you'd like to hear, read from any of our books, or bring your favorites from home. Please note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.
Read Across America Day: Dr. Seuss's Birthday Party
Saturday, March 2 @ 1 pmIf it were Dr. Seuss's birthday, what would you do? Thing 1 and Thing 2, we're talking to you! Would you make little cupcakes with hair of blue? How about truffula trees? Would you invite Cindy Lou? It's Read Across America Day, so tell all your friends. If you read every day, the fun never ends!
Beginner Chess Classes
Saturday, March 2 @ 10:30 amExperienced chess instructor, Don Kyle, will be offering FREE beginning chess lessons to all ages. Mr. Kyle will be providing the chess boards, so just bring yourself & your enthusiasm to learn. These classes will be held every Saturday through March 23rd.
Seussapalooza!
Saturday, March 2 @ 2 pm"Grab your Hat and Read with the Cat!" Children of all ages are invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday at the biggest and best birthday bash ever! Pick up your Seuss passport starting at 2 pm and visit the various arts and crafts stations in the Children's Department. Birthday treats will be served during a showing of a Dr. Seuss film at 3 pm. All completed passports will be entered into a prize drawing at 4 pm. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.
