  • Friends of the Library September Book Sale

    Friends of the Library Book SaleFOL members are invited to a Preview Sale: Friday, September 6 from 10am - 12pm
    The Book Sale will be open to the general public:
    Friday, September 6, 1pm - 5pm
    Saturday, September 7, 10am - 5pm
    Monday, September 9, 10am - 7pm
    Be sure to stock up for fall reading and choose from over 3,000 fiction titles and an extensive selection of cookbooks, all a result of generous patron donations and all priced at $1. Other selections include classics; biographies and memoirs; history; travel; health; inspiration; art, music and poetry; foreign language; reference; nature; hobbies, music CDs, and DVDs all priced at $1. Children's, young adult books, paperbacks, books on cassettes, and VHS movies will be priced at 50¢ each. On Tuesday, September 10, all remaining items will be available at special discount pricing from 10am – 2pm.


  • National Library Card Sign-up Month: Family Storytime

    September is National Library Card Sign-up Month. Join us at storytime and bring a friend. We’ll read Kevin Goes to the Library, When the Library Lights Go Out, and other stories. Plus, we sing, dance, and do a craft.

     

     

  • Stay 'n Play

    Friday, September 6 @ 11 am

    child with legosThere’s no need to rush out after storytime. Instead, stay, socialize with other adults, and maybe even relax. Toys and games will be provided for the little ones so that they can socialize, too.

     

     

  • Teen Lounge

    Friday, September 6 @ 3:30 pm

    Teens, join us for gaming on the Xbox, PlayStation or Wii, play board games, paint, or just hang out with your friends in a fun, friendly environment. Guitars and a keyboard are available if you feel like getting musical.

     

  • e-Book Classes

    Friday, September 6 beginning at 10am

    The Southeast Library will be offering classes on how to download Library e-Books onto various devices (Kindle at 10am, Nook at 11am, and iPad & iPhone at 12pm).  All classes are free, but registration is required. To sign up, please stop by the reference desk or call 827-6900.

  • Raindrop Therapy

    Raindrop TherapyThursday, September 5 @ 6pm

When properly applied to the neck, back and feet, these essential oils can bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalances in the body. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
