Earth Day is celebrated world-wide every April 22nd. In honor of our blue/green planet, we'll read stories about our wonderous environment. Join us for stories such as The Mangrove Tree by Susan Ross, and others.
Everyone is welcome to join the Southeast Branch's Knitting Club: The Knotty Knitters. All ages and abilities are encouraged to join and instruction can be provided to beginners. Make new friends and learn a new craft.
Friday, April 25 @ 10:30am In this first of a three part journey into the ancient Chinese healing exercise, you will learn and practice Tai-Chi. In class, students will perform soft, continuous movements that will allow them to receive many positive aspects of renewed health, while developing internal stillness. Some of the benefits of Tai-Chi include: relief from muscular tension and anxiety, increased concentration and memory, enhanced sensory awareness, and improved balance. This free workshop is presented by Hector M. Ruiz, Jr., a certified instructor in Tai-Chi and Qi Gong.
