  • Summer Reading Events

    flypChildren's Summer Florida Library Youth Program (FLYP)
    3:30pm Thursdays, June 19 – July 31

    Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's FLYP Programs take place at 3:30pm on Thursdays beginning June 19 through July 31. We invite you to "Fizz, Boom, READ!" with us each week at the library. Children of all ages are welcome to attend; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child. Don't miss Slime Sisters Science featuring your own Ms. Anne and Ms. Amy. These programs are brought to you by the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, with many thanks to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for their generous support.

    June 26:  St. Augustine A - Z (featuring children's author Susan Calfee)

    July 17:  "Frozen" in July [NEW!!] (2:30 - 5:30 pm!)
    July 24:  Magician Mark Alan (extra show at 2:30pm)

  • Babytime

    Thursday, June 19 @ 10:15am
    Babytime at Main Library, for ages 0-16 months. Join us in the Children's Room at Main Library for lapsit circle time. We will engage the wee little ones with songs, action rhymes, and sensory exploration. This program is for the very little ones only. Once your child is able to run, they are ready to graduate to Toddler Time.

     

  • Toddler Time

    Thursday, June 19 @ 11am
    It's Toddler Time, for ages 1-3 years old. Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia will sing songs, read stories, perform action rhymes, and more. There are two toddler times in the large meeting room every Thursday. The first is at 11am and the second is at 11:30am. Seating is limited, so if you can't make the first one, stick around for the next one.

     

  • Summer Reading Event: Timucuan Pyrotechnics

    It's time again for the Florida Library Youth Program (FLYP) at Main Library. This year it's all about science as we "fizz, boom, and read" through some great programs. The first program stars our friends from The Public Archaeology Network as they explore and experiment with ancient science as used by the Timucuan Indians right here in Florida.

    June 26 - The Science of Sound
    July 10 - Main-iac Science Labs pt.1
    July 17 - Mark Alan Magician
    July 24 - Main-iac Science Labs pt.2
    July 31 - The FLYP Finale Ice Cream Party
    Programs are designed for elementary school-aged children and seating is limited.

    Our topic will be "family" in this week's family storytime. We'll read about a family of ten armadillos in Ten, and we'll see what happens when a new baby surprises her sister in Chloe, Instead. Join us.

     

  • Stay 'n Play

    Aside from being just plain fun, playing is an important part of learning. Stick around after storytime for socialization time with blocks, puzzles, and other toys.

     

  • Yoga For Kids

    Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, lower stress, and improve energy. Learn to relax your mind and body with some simple, kid-friendly stretches and exercises. This program is for beginners and fun for the whole family.  It is recommended that you wear loose clothing and bring your own water bottle.

     

  • Art Lab

    art kidThursday, June 19 @ 2pm

    Get crafty and creative with some out-of-the-box art. Experiment with different tools and mediums. Bring home some art that mom or dad will be proud to hang on the fridge. This series, which runs every Thursday through July 31, is appropriate for kids of all ages. Although plastic aprons are supplied, please wear clothing that you feel comfortable painting in. This series is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

     

  • Southeast Movie Night

    movieThursday, June 19 @ 6pm

    Based on the character "Jack Ryan," created by bestselling author Tom Clancy, this film is a global action thriller set in the present day. Starring Chris Pine and Kevin Costner, it follows a young Jack as he uncovers a financial terrorist plot. Light snacks will be served.

Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child. Strollers and street shoes will not be permitted in the building. These programs are brought to you by the Bartram Trail Branch Library, with many thanks to the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library and to the Switzerland Community Church for their generous support.

    Are you a Minecraft fan? Tweens and teens can come into the library to make some paper toy monsters. Create monsters that look like something right out of a Minecraft or Roblox game.
