  • Summer Reading Event: Slime Sisters Science

    Thursday, July 10 @ 3:30pm

    Who says girls can't love science and all things squishy and slimy? Meet the Slime Sisters, Beaker and Dr. Squish (Ms. Amy and Ms. Anne) as they present an interactive program full of audience participation, corny science jokes, icky science facts, and even slime. We'll learn about the five senses with audience volunteers helping us explore how things taste, smell, feel, sound, and look through stories, experiments, songs, and more. Get ready to "Fizz, Boom, READ" at your library! Thank you to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for generously sponsoring this program.

     

  • Babytime

    Babytime is designed for pre-walkers ages 0-16 months. Join us in The Children's Room for a lapsit circle time where we will engage the wee little ones with songs, action rhymes, and sensory exploration. Parents can learn fun new ways to interact with their babies and socialize them with other children in the same age group. For the safety of the babies, we encourage parents to graduate their toddlers to Toddler Time once they are able to walk and run.

     

  • Toddler Time

    Thursday, July 10 @ 11am
    Toddler Time is designed for children ages 1-3. Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia will sing songs, read stories, perform action rhymes, and more. It is always a great time, but seating is limited. If you don't make it into the 11am program, we will be hosting a second one at 11:30am so stick around. You'll be glad you did.

     

  • Summer Reading Event: Main-iac Science Labs pt.1

    It's the Florida Library Youth Program (FLYP). This year it is all about science so we will "fizz, boom and read" through some great programs. In this week's episode, your favorite Main-iacs, Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia, will put on their lab coats and explore a variety of wacky and fun science experiments.

    Get ready to fly this week as we look at stories about birds. Find out how a little girl brings peace to a town after a pigeon makes a mess, and learn some facts about our fine feathered friends. Join us for a craft, too.

     

  • Yoga for Kids

    Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, lower stress, and improve energy. Learn to relax your mind and body with some simple, kid-friendly stretches and exercises. This program is for beginners and fun for the whole family.  It is recommended that you wear loose clothing and bring your own water bottle.

     

  • Art Lab

    Get crafty and creative with some out-of-the-box art. Experiment with different tools and mediums as you learn about different cultures and artists. This series is appropriate for kids of all ages. Although plastic aprons are supplied, please wear clothing that you feel comfortable painting in. This series is sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

     

  • Summer Reading Event: Saltwater Cowgirls

    Join us for another exciting FLYP event and come dance to the music of St. Augustine’s own Saltwater Cowgirls as they serenade us with music inspired by the ocean and sea creatures. Here they are on YouTube.

    Bartram Trail’s FLYP Programs take place at 10am and are held at the Family Activities Building (FAB) at Switzerland Community Church located at 2179 State Road 13. Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are intended for the school-age child. Strollers and street shoes will not be permitted in the building.   • Summer Reading Event: Teen Craft (Grades 6-12): Ginormous Tissue Paper Flowers

    You've seen them before -- those little paper flowers that are used for decorations.  But, you haven't seen one like the ones that will be made today -- they are ginormous! Stop in and make one for yourself, or, give it to a friend. Class size is limited, so call us at 827-6960 or stop by the desk to reserve your spot.     Have you ever seen those works of art that look like colors running down a canvas? Teens (ages 12-17) are invited to create their own unique melted crayon craft. We will supply the canvas, crayons, and glue, all you need to bring is your imagination. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

     

  • Anastasia Island Book Club

    Join us in this month's book club by reading Juliet: A Novel by Anne Fortier. When Julie Jacobs leaves for Italy, per the instructions of her late aunt's will, she never imagines that she'll be thrust into a centuries-old feud, not to mention one of the most legendary romances of all time.
