  • Nature Detective Workshops for Kids [NEW date - was July 12]

    Children (ages 6 - 12) are invited to become Nature Detectives at our hands-on workshops where we'll learn all about bats and how these pollinators relate to gardening. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and enjoy learning all about our wonderful Florida bats and why they are so valuable and not so scary. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, with special partners from Bird Island Park providing activities with a special bat craft afterwards. Space is limited; sign up for a workshop by stopping by the Reference Desk or calling the library at 827-6950.

    Presented by Carol O'Dell, award-winning author, blogger, and inspirational speaker. It's a new publishing world out there and social media is one of the most effective ways to connect with your audience. If you're confused as to how to use it, and how to connect with the social media outlet that is best for you and your book, then come to the July presentation to learn how to make social media work for you.

    This meeting is sponsored by the FWA/ACC and the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. All book sales benefit the Friends of the Library. Doors open at 10am. All meetings are free and open to the public.
