Fitness Pole Walking

Try fitness pole walking with certified pole walking instructor, Sheila Vidamour. If you don’t have a lot of time to exercise and wish it could be more fun and easier to do, try this walking system. Feel free to join, even if you missed part 1! Learn to meditate in the style of Eknath Easwaran. It is a traditional style which has been skillfully put into western terms. It uses western examples making it more understandable and easier to put into practice. Discover how mediation can allow you to sharpen concentration, deal effectively with stress, transform anger, release deep reserves of energy, leave behind painful memories and live fully in the present, develop unsuspected capacities for insight and understanding, and learn to love more fully. People from all traditions are welcome. There is no charge for participation. RELAX with Singing Bowls

Crystal Singing Bowl Resonance is a powerful healing tool that gently promotes health and balance in one’s life. When played, they produce beautiful waves of healing sound and vibration known as resonance; listeners experience an increased sense of peace, harmony and vitality within their mind, body, & spirit, which can result in lower blood pressure, immune system stimulation, reduction of stress hormones, and increased endorphins. No experience required: expect to feel relaxed, rejuvenated and inspired! During the session participants may rest in savasana or sit; please bring a yoga mat or folded towel for your comfort. A brief introduction to the seven major chakras will be provided and then the Crystal Singing Bowls will be rung, each bowl is specifically tuned to balance and energize each chakra. Presented by Jade Dupuis.

 

Island Yoga with Marlene

Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, lower stress, and improve energy. Registration and experience are not required. Wear some comfortable clothing and bring a mat, but, if you don’t have one, towels are fine to use. This class is free and open to the public.

Kids LEGO Brick & Coding Club

Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces. Want to do even more building, but a different kind? Kids and tweens can come into the library to learn with us during our Hour of Code! We will have some iPads for kids to share, or bring in your own tablet. There is no registration or fee for this program.
