National Library Week: LB Reptile Experience @ the Library!

LB Reptile Experience is coming during National Library Week!  Tell your friends and join us on March 19 if you want to get up close and personal with lizards, snakes, turtles and more. Baby/Spanish Storytimes in April!

Spanish StorytimesFridays @ 10:15am in the Childrens Department

Join us every Friday for a fun Spanish/English storytime in the Children's Department. We will have lapsits for babies, rhymes, stories, music, and more. This storytime is conducted in both English and Spanish and is geared toward children and parents learning Spanish, but all are welcome. Bienveniedos a todos!

Little Ones Craft Time: Wednesdays @ 10:45am
Preschool Storytime: Wednesdays @ 11:05am

Storytimes run through April 29.
 
Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months of age. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue, and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs, counting and colors in Spanish. Come for songs, stories, and fun. Baby/Spanish storytime consists of lap-sit rhymes, songs, and stories in both English and Spanish. We look forward to seeing you. 

 

National Library Week: Understanding Dog Training Equipment Options

Collars, leashes, harnesses - Oh My! Chances are you'll find there are many choices. Our special guest will be certified dog trainer Julie Parker and founder of Be A Pack Leader Dog Walking Club and the Pack Leader Dog Training Scholarship Program. Julie will help you understand the many training tools available to help your dog become a better canine citizen. Join us as we look at how these training tools work. There will be a special demonstration by Julie's dog Lexie as she models the latest training equipment fashions. This program is free and open to the public. Please no dogs. Fusion Bead Craft for Kids and Teens

Kids and tweens can come into the library to create some fun fusion bead crafts.  We will have patterns for you to make some of your favorite video game character keychains, or simply create your own unique keychain out of fusion beads!

 

Family Movie Event!

(PG) Come join us for an all time family favorite! A foster kid, who lives with her mean foster mom, sees her life change when business tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. How NOT to Kill Your Plants

Wondering what plants will best survive a winter freeze? Do you want to liven up your yard this time of year? Come to this FREE program to learn how to choose and maintain native plants and help them thrive.  Plants will be available for sale with a portion of the proceeds going to the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

 

Kids LEGO Brick Club

Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces. We supply the LEGO bricks and fun - all you need to bring is your imagination. There is no registration or fee for this program.

Come join us for our Author Book Club. This month's author is Melanie Benjamin. Read any book by Melanie Benjamin and come in ready to discuss that book with the group. What are your favorite things about this author? Why do you follow this author? Do you have an author you'd like us to discuss? Come in and take part in our newest group. Author will not be present, this is simply a discussion group.

 

Rainbow Magic Craft & Book Club

Are you a fan of Daisy Meadows's Rainbow Magic books?  If so, come in to meet other kids who enjoy her books.  We will make a fun fairy craft and also have a lively discussion about the Rainbow Magic books over some cookies and lemonade.
