Baby/Spanish Storytimes in May

Spanish StorytimesFridays @ 10:15am in the Childrens Department

Join us every Friday for a fun Spanish/English storytime in the Children's Department. We will have lapsits for babies, rhymes, stories, music, and more. This storytime is conducted in both English and Spanish and is geared toward children and parents learning Spanish, but all are welcome. Bienveniedos a todos!

 

Relax with Raindrop Therapy!

Give your feet a treat by experiencing Raindrop Therapy. Inspired by the Lakota Indians, Raindrop Therapy uses therapeutic oils for balancing and rejuvenating the mind and body. When properly applied to the neck, back, and feet, these essential oils can bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalances in the body. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces. Want to do even more building, but a different kind? Kids and tweens can come into the library to learn with us during our Hour of Code! We will have some iPads for kids to share, or bring in your own tablet. There is no registration or fee for this program.

National Honors Students from Pedro Menendez High School will be at the library to tutor children who need a little extra help with their studies. The tutoring is free, all you need to do is call the library to reserve as spot on our list, as space is limited. 209-3730

But less than one hour later, Young found himself the reluctant leader of a dangerous march through the streets of America's oldest city. Certain he could reason with the mob, Young started to cross at the intersection of King and St. George...and what happened next would change not only his life, but also the course of history.

Discover how to relax your lower back and body through stretching and using breathing techniques. Remember to breathe deeply and regularly, as this will help you to oxygenate the body, eliminate carbon dioxide, and to relax fully. This free class is presented by Gina Mercado.

National Library Week: Zine Craft for Teens and Adults

Teens and adults can create beautiful bowls out of old magazine strips! Come in and try your hand at this easy, but beautiful 3D art project. This is a FREE program.  Supplies are provided by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library; you provide the fun and imagination!
