A four-part program dedicated to bringing out the best in your play, screenplay or short story. Fellow writers and participants will help you develop your work by reading aloud and providing feedback.
The program will run the second Tuesday of the month for three months, always beginning at 6 pm: July 9th, August 13th and September 10th.

Come in to help us celebrate the end of our Summer Reading Program with the uber popular, Pete the Cat. We'll be making some totally groovy crafts while eating some cool Pete snacks. Be sure to bring your cameras. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

Teens (Ages 12+) are invited to the library to make sand candles. You can make your own design since we'll be using sand. We will supply the materials, you just need to supply the imagination. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

This month, we are showing a classic film from 1960 starring Burt Lancaster and Shirley Jones. Lancaster and Jones won Academy awards for their performances in Sinclair Lewis' tale of a traveling salesman who becomes a preacher. A fierce competition is underway, a duel between two young circus magicians who have been trained since childhood for this purpose. Teens (Ages 12+), are invited to come to the library to make altered CDs. What?! You'll be able to make cool decorations for your room or even suncatchers out of old recycled CDs. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before each show. Bring in the kids for a fun Viva Florida 500 event and dance to the music of St. Augustine’s own Saltwater Cowgirls as they serenade us with music inspired by the ocean and sea creatures. (PG) A small-time magician is swept away to an enchanted land and is forced into a power struggle between three witches. Light snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. Seating is limited to 40 persons to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the movie. The Kiwanis Club, Nettles Fine Jewelry, and the Early Learning Coalition are partnering with the library to hold a full blown festival for toddlers. We'll have music, games, stories, crafts, and a special Elmo character visit. The folks from Nemours BrightStart are holding early literacy screenings for children ages 3-5 years old. The St. Augustine Police Department will also be here to talk about bike safety and each child will receive a free bike helmet. You'll want to bring your cameras to this extra special event for our youngest patrons.
