Gentle Stretching with Gina

This free class emphasizes stretching, coordination of breath with movement, and attention to alignment and is designed to create breath awareness, enhance balance, and increase flexibility. Stretching is great for those who are experiencing joint sensitivity, or overall stiffness. Wear loose clothing, bring a towel & mat. Presented by yoga instructor, Gina Mercado.

 

Family Movie with The Muppets

(PG) While on a grand world tour, The Muppets find themselves wrapped into a European jewel-heist caper headed by a Kermit the Frog look-alike and his dastardly sidekick. Nature Detective Workshops for Kids: Bats

Nature DetectivesWednesday, August 6 @ 2:30pm & 3:30pm (repeated show)
Children (ages 6 - 12) are invited to become Nature Detectives at our hands-on workshops where we'll learn all about bats and how these pollinators relate to gardening. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and enjoy learning all about our wonderful Florida bats and why they are so valuable and not so scary. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. Space is limited.  Call the library at 209-3730 to register.

Relax with Raindrop Therapy

Raindrop TherapyThursday, August 7 @ 6pm  
Give your feet a treat by experiencing Raindrop Therapy. Inspired by the Lakota Indians, Raindrop Therapy uses therapeutic oils for balancing and rejuvenating the mind and body. When properly applied to the neck, back, and feet, these essential oils can bring about electrical alignment and help relieve a variety of discomforts caused by imbalances in the body. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

 

Knit Wits Knitting Club for Kids & Teens

The Knit Wits is a family affair. Kids 8-17 are welcome to learn to knit, or bring along mom so she can learn too. Learn to knit, or bring in something you’ve already started, and knit with the group. Please bring your own knitting needles, if you have them.

Storytimes resume September 3. Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs. Come for songs, stories, and fun. We look forward to seeing you.

Kids LEGO Brick Club

Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces. We supply the LEGO bricks and fun - all you need to bring is your imagination. There is no registration or fee for this program.
