Nature Detectives Workshops for Kids

Wednesday, July 22 @ 1:00 & 2:30  (two sessions)

Pre-registration required as space and materials are limited! Starting Tuesday, June 9, call 827-6970 or visit the front desk of the Hastings Branch Library to register!

Children ages 6-12 are invited to become true Nature Heroes and learn all about dragonflies and hummingbirds, two amazing pollinators. These fun, educational workshops are hands-on with take-home gardening goodies for you. The second workshop is a repeat of the first. These workshops are generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine. Please Note: All children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.

Kids' Summer Reading Program: Heroes of Music by Tom Santoni

Friday, July 17 @ 3pm

What is a hero?  Do you have any heroes?  Can a musician be a hero?  In this workshop, we’ll talk about some of the conductors, composers and musicians that are thought of as heroes, and we’ll listen to clips of their music.  We’ll also listen to some of Mr. Santoni's personal musical heroes from classical to rap music.  C’mon down, open your ears, listen with your heart and enjoy the great sounds! This program will be presented at the W.E. Harris Center, Harris Street.
