Dinner, Book Signing, and Author Talk with Bob H. Lee

book coverThe Hastings Library presents an evening with Bob H. Lee, author of Backcountry Lawman. Johnny and Beanie’s Kitchen will be hosting a mouth-watering fish fry; tickets for dinner are $10 and must be purchased advance, either at the Hastings Branch Library or at Johnny and Beanie’s at 224 N. Main St. in Hastings. No purchase is required for the author talk. Dinner will be served at 5:30pm and the talk will begin at 6pm. Books will be available at the event for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Hastings Library programming.

 

After-Hours Fall Festival & Unscary Halloween Party

This week's storytime will celebrate fall festivities, pumpkins, gourds and Halloween. We'll read Who Loves Fall by Bob Raczka and other stories. Join us for music and a craft, too.

Storytime will feature some special visitors this week in recognition of Fire Safety Week. Cora Clements, Senior Forest Ranger of the Florida Forest Service, and her friend, Smokey the Bear, and will read a special story. Children will learn how to build and put out campfires safely, and be given a tour of the wildland fire fighting vehicle and its special equipment.

 

Stay 'n Play

legosThere’s no need to rush out after storytime. Instead, stay, socialize with other adults, and maybe even relax. Toys and games will be provided for the little ones so that they can socialize, too.
