LEGO Club for Tweens
Wednesday, July 17 @4pm
Tweens in 4th-7th grades are invited to come to the library and bring your friends for an afternoon of fun building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club.
Beaches Leader Activities Contest
Starting June 10
The Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, the Beaches Branch Library, and the Beaches Leader/Ponte Vedra Leader along with Target are planning a summer filled with fun activities for you. Beginning June 10th visit the library to pick up your game cards. Completed entries should be returned to the library. All participants will have the opportunity to be recognized with prizes, awards, and to have their name in the Ponte Vedra Leader. Visit www.beachesleader.com for additional information.
Nature Detective Workshops for Kids
Friday, July 19 @ 1pm
Children, ages 6 - 12, are invited to become Nature Detectives. Learn all about Florida lizards, how to spot them, and how these pollinators relate to gardening. Each child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine. FLYP Summer Reading Program: Dig In

Everyone is invited to us for a fun Viva Florida 500 event. The “Spice Girls” CayANNE (Ms. Anne) and Pepper (Ms. Amy), of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, will present an interactive program in our Ol’ Florida Kitchen as we “Dig In” to stories, songs, and more. Audience participation is guaranteed to get the kids involved. All of our FLYP events this summer will have a Florida flavor in honor Vival Florida 500. Please note: This event will take place in the Hastings Recreation Center gym located at 400 E. Harris Street. Please ensure all guests wear rubber-soled shoes.

The Florida Agricultural Museum & Stable-2-Table bring you an educational program complete with live animals. Learn about what farming was like before the days of modern agribusiness. Also, see what it's like run your own Community Supported Agriculture business today. All of our FLYP events this summer will have a Florida flavor in honor Viva Florida 500. FLYP Summer Reading Program: Musician Tom Santoni

Come listen to a selection of great rock 'n' roll music from the 50s and 60s by some of its pioneers including Fats Domino, Bill Haley and the Comets, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, and Florida's own Bo Diddley. We'll learn about where the music and the term "Rock 'n' Roll" came from and why it became so popular, what instruments were used, and how the library can help you learn more about the music. All of our FLYP events this summer celebrate an aspect of Florida in honor of Viva Florida 500. So c'mon over and rock out with us. Dancing is encouraged. Pre-register for our Nature Detective Workshop (formerly titled Fun with Flowers...for KIDS!), held Thursday, July 25 at 1pm by calling the Library at 827-6970 or stopping by the Hastings Branch Library. Children ages 6-12 are invited to become Nature Detectives and learn all about lizards and how these pollinators relate to gardening at these hands-on workshops. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and have fun learning all about our wonderful Florida lizards and how spot to them. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Hastings Branch Library. Children's Summer Reading Program
June 16-August 3
Starting June 10, Reading Logs and will be available for pickup. All children are invited to participate in our summer reading program which includes books and other prizes for reading. We will have weekly performances from magician Mark Alan, LB Reptile Experience, Saltwater Cowgirls, and much more. All performances, the character visits, craft programs, and the book prizes are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.
