Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces. We supply the LEGO bricks and fun - all you need to bring is your imagination. There is no registration or fee for this program.

 

Rainbow Magic Craft & Book Club

Are you a fan of Daisy Meadows's Rainbow Magic books?  If so, come in to meet other kids who enjoy her books.  We will make a fun fairy craft and also have a lively discussion about the Rainbow Magic books over some cookies and lemonade.

 

Baby/Spanish Storytimes in March!

Spanish StorytimesFridays @ 10:15am in the Childrens Department

Join us every Friday for a fun Spanish/English storytime in the Children's Department. We will have lapsits for babies, rhymes, stories, music, and more. This storytime is conducted in both English and Spanish and is geared toward children and parents learning Spanish, but all are welcome. Bienveniedos a todos!

Storytimes run through April 29.
 
Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months of age. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue, and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs, counting and colors in Spanish. Come for songs, stories, and fun. Baby/Spanish storytime consists of lap-sit rhymes, songs, and stories in both English and Spanish. We look forward to seeing you. 

 

Family Bingo for Books

Don't miss this chance to win free books while having fun playing Bingo! All materials will be supplied by the Library and everyone will go home with at least one free book. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Bartram Trail Library. 

St. Johns Read Event: Stay 'n Play

The library has loads of track, trains, and bridges.  It will all be available for small hands and big imaginations, right after storytime. 

 

St. Johns Read Event: Train Storytime

Celebrate Henry Flagler's "I think I can" attitude at this week's family storytime. We'll share stories, music, and activites centered on trains. Aside from being fun, trains are an integral part of the history of Hastings, so join us!

 

Family Film Series

Thursday, February 5 @ 4pm

In today's Family Feature Film, square shaped subterraneans raise an orphaned boy, who helps them fight back against an evil exterminator and make peace with the fearful residents of an upper-crust Victorian-era town known for its world-class cheeses. This new release film is rated PG. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. Free popcorn while it lasts.

 

Black History Month Celebration with Park Ranger Ted Johnson

Tuesday, February 3 @ 4pm

Park Ranger, Ted Johnson, from the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, will present a special 45-minute interactive living history program detailing the history of Fort Mose, the first legally sanctioned free black settlement in North America. Children will be able to try on colonial Spanish uniforms and handle period replicas that vividly illustrate the lives and struggles of the culturally diverse Mose settlers and their commitment to protecting their families, community, beliefs, country, and above all, their freedom.

 

Art for Tots!

Little Kid ArtSaturday, April 18 @ 11am

Come into our Art Lab for projects perfectly fit for little hands, accompanied by a story. Art history can be explored at any age! This program is designed for toddlers and little ones and sponsored by the State of the Arts grant from the St. Johns Cultural Council.
