Aarrgh ye ready, landlubbers? It’s time to set sail for adventure with Captain Kristine and First Mate Alex. Turn in your completed reading log and be transformed into a pirate – you’ll even get a new pirate name. Then help the Captain and First Mate tell a classic fairytale story (all wrong, of course). The treasure map in the story will lead you to the treasure and the special guests that hold it.
Parents, please note that this program will take place (mostly) outside and that your child will get wet. Appropriate swimwear and cover-ups are permitted; shoes are required.

See and touch actual artifacts, taste real beef jerky, and become part of the story as he brings his stories to life. Join bat advocate, Marcia Daniels, as she teaches us about the amazing bats found in our area, and why they need our help. Bats are amazing bug eaters with important roles to play in our local ecosystem. Discover the wonderful world of bats through this interactive family program. Join local musician, entertainer, and storyteller, Steve Shanholtzer, for tales and music from the swamp. Journey back to the cracker days of old Florida with stories of wild hog hunts, navigating Sweetwater Swamp with a compass, and trips to the company store with a pocketful of tokens. Wear your PJs to this special session of our regular Wednesday storytime where we do storytime backwards. Arts and crafts come first and then we will wind down with some favorite stories. This is a family program that is suitable for all young children.
Let's "Dig Into Reading" by taking some undersea journeys into the ocean, the sea, and the bottom of a goldfish bowl. Parents, please note that this is the same storytime we will be doing on Wednesday, June 19.

Celebrate the beginning of summer reading with our wackiest Wednesday yet. Build catapults from scratch and see how far you can launch water balloons at the opposing team. Summer reading logs will be available for pick up and snow cones will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.
Parents, please note that this program will take place outside in the library courtyard and EVERYONE will get wet! Bathing suits and coverups for children are recommended; shoes are required.

Hey kids, join the Southeast Snack Attack Club at 2pm to enjoy a light snack and listen to Miss Kristine read aloud The Year of the Book by Andrea Cheng, one of the 2013-2014 Sunshine State Books for grades 3-5. This story follows a young Chinese American girl as she navigates relationships with family, friends, and her fourth grade classroom, and finds a true best friend.
