Have you ever visited the St. Johns County Bookmobile? If not, now is the time. The Bookmobile will be rolling into the parking lot of the Southeast Branch Library at 3pm and will be available for patrons of all ages to tour and check out materials. September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. If you don't have a library card, this is the perfect opportunity to sign up.
The fun starts early. Join Miss Kristine for a library pep rally at 2:30pm. We will welcome the Bookmobile with dancing and cheering when it arrives at 3pm. There will be a family craft starting at 3pm.

Pre-register for our Nature Detective Workshop by calling the Library at 827-6970 or stopping by the Hastings Branch Library. Children ages 6-12 are invited to become Nature Detectives and learn all about lizards and how these pollinators relate to gardening at these hands-on workshops. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and have fun learning all about our wonderful Florida lizards and how spot to them. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Hastings Branch Library. These workshops celebrate Viva Florida 500.

The St. Johns County Public Library System welcomed its first Bookmobile in 2001. In 2008, the Bluebird Express was added and provided the opportunity to serve residents of all ages countywide. Both Bookmobiles are full-service mobile libraries with extensive collections! We'll have crafting for the kids, so we invite you to stop by the Main Library for a special visit from the Bookmobile.

The Children's Museum of St. Johns is teaming up with the St. Johns County Public Library System to present a fun and creative afternoon of activities! Join us for "Pelican Pete" storytelling with authors Hugh and Frances Keiser (who will be available for book signing), chalkboard murals featuring scenes from the Pelican Pete book series, and chalk art take-a-ways. This program is free of charge and open to the public. This program was made possible by the Barbara Kay Foundation.

NO August Storytimes @ Main Library
Summer is finally over, so our Children's Department will be taking a break from Storytimes during the month of August! They are planning an entire fall of FABULOUS Babytimes, Toddler Times, and Pre-K Storytimes. Be sure to join us the first week in September, when Storytimes resume. We'll share some of our favorite books, sing songs, play music, tell interactive stories, make crafts, and have lots of fun.
