Storytimes are every Wednesday through July 31. Baby & Toddler storytimes are aimed at children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and is aimed at teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs. Come for songs, stories, and fun. We look forward to seeing you all!! To ensure  everyone is able to enjoy quality story times, we have a maximum capacity (first come, first served) of 55. For more information on storytimes at other branches, please click here.

 

Nature Detective Workshops for Kids

Nature DetectivesWednesday, July 17 @ 2pm and 3:30pm (repeat program)

Class size is limited so reserve your spot now by calling the Library at 827-6960 or stopping by the Bartram Trail Branch Library Reference Desk. Children ages 6 - 12 ONLY are invited to become Nature Detectives and learn all about lizards and how these pollinators relate to gardening. Each child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and have fun learning all about our wonderful Florida lizards and how to spot them. These programs are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library. These workshops also celebrate Viva Florida 500. Please note: Children under the age of 10 must have a parent or guardian present for the duration of the program. 


Bedtime Storytime

Wear your PJs to this special session of our regular Wednesday storytime where we do storytime backwards. Arts and crafts come first and then we will wind down with some favorite stories. This is a family program that is suitable for all young children.

Red Cross Summer Safety for Kids

Swimming is a popular summer activity and The American Red Cross encourages everyone to learn how to stay safe at the beach and the pool. Join us for an informative program on how to enjoy water activities safely.

 

FLYP Summer Reading Program: Firefighters to the Rescue

Wednesday, July 31 @ 10am

Meet your local and state firefighting heroes and learn what they must do every day to keep us safe. Explore the vehicles and equipment of the St. Johns County Fire Rescue and learn what you can do to stay safe, too. Also, learn what it’s like to work for the Florida Forest Service during a fire emergency. All of our FLYP events this summer will have a Florida flavor in honor of Viva Florida 500. Please note: This event will take place in the Hastings Recreation Center gym, located at 400 E. Harris Street. Please ensure all guests wear rubber-soled shoes.
