Our summer reading program for children begins Sunday, June 17. Reading logs will be available on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. During FLYP (June 17 - August 11), for every 5 days you read, you win a prize! Simply mark the days you read or are read to with an "x" - attending weekly FLYP events on Thursday also counts as a day read. We look forward to encouraging a summer of reading with special events and prizes at the library, all generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library!
"Just for Babies" and Family Storytime - Summer 2012

Just for Babies - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings, June - July, at 10:15 AM; babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby.
Family Storytime - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings, June - July, at 11 AM; aimed at children 16 months - 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away! Find more information on systemwide storytimes.

Family Game Time
Wednesday, June 27 from 3 - 6 pm
On the 4th Wednesday of every month between 3 - 6 pm, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games! Simply use your library card or driver's license to check out a board game or two from the Reference Desk and play anywhere in the library. Call the Library at 827-6950 for more details. All board games are generously provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
LEGO Club for Tweens
Wednesday, June 13 from 4 - 5 pm
For tweens ages 8 - 13 only! Join our LEGO Club at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library! Come on out and bring your friends for an afternoon of fun building with Legos and hanging out at the library. This Club will meet once a month through December, on the second Wednesday of each month, in the Small Conference Room. No registration and it's free! Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos.
Summer Crafts with Teens
Saturday, June 9 from 3 - 4 pm
All elementary-aged children, ages 5 - 11, are invited to make fun crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club! All materials are provided, no registration needed, and it's FREE! NOTE: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. This program will continue once a month - on Saturdays during the summer - as Summer Crafts with Teens. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
Kids Summer Reading Program: Yankee Doodle Llama
Tuesday, July 3 @ 2 pm
Yankee Doodle went to town, riding on a llama, stuck a feather in his cap, and said, "I miss my mama!" Children are invited to celebrate July 4th with this patriotic-themed crafting event. We'll be making patriotic bracelets, scratch and color pictures, an oversized American flag, and much more! Enjoy a special visit by Llama Llama from the popular children's series by Anna Dewdney. Sponsored by The Friends of the St. Johns County Library.
Kids Summer Reading Program: Joe Asconi Rhythm Company

Get into the beat with Joe Asconi and his drums! Joe Asconi Rhythm Company will help connect children to the natural rhythms of the world as he leads them in a spectacular drum circle. Joe was wonderful last year, and we eagerly welcome him back this year! Children of all ages are welcome; please be aware, however, that these programs are geared toward the school-age child. Sponsored by The Friends of the St. Johns County Library.

Get into the beat with Joe Asconi and his drums! Joe Asconi Rhythm Company will help connect children to the natural rhythms of the world as he leads them in a spectacular drum circle. The whole family is welcome; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child. *This performance will be held at the Hastings Recreation Center gym at 400 E.
