Kids, spend your Wednesday afternoon being a paleontologist by digging for real fossils collected from the Peace River in Southwestern Florida. See if you can guess the type of animal the fossils came from. Also, watch a prehistoric creature-feature while decorating your own dinosaur cookies.

Every 4th Wednesday of the month, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games, including Monopoly, Connect Four, Candy Land, Scrabble, Chutes & Ladders, Uno, and many more. Simply use your library card, or driver's license, to check out the games. All board games - including our new ones (Trivial Pursuit Family Edition, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Don't Drop the Egg, Super Mario Brothers Checkers, and Apples to Apples Disney Edition) are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, tweens in 4th-7th grades are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too. We love our tweens and that they use our library - happy National Library Week.

Children ages 3-5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lay and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school. This special monthly offering is yet another reason to love your library - happy National Library Week.

Children (K - 5th grade), and their caregivers, are invited to make crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club. Materials are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. No registration is needed and it's free. Please Note: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.

Join us this Tuesday for a special library-themed "Just for Babies" (10:15am) and Family Storytime (11am) as we celebrate National Library Week and why we love our library. Every child who attends will receive a special sticker, and our new 3-foot plus Elmo doll and our Sesame Street puppets will be on hand for your child(ren) to enjoy and for picture-taking with your cameras. Does your little one love Elmo? Do you have fond memories yourself of Sesame Street? The whole family is invited to celebrate this year's National Library Week theme "Lives change @ your library" by coming to our Sesame Street Festival for crafts, dancing with bubbles and shaky eggs, a Sesame Street book display, chalk art, games, puppets, pictures with our Sesame Street backdrop and our 3-foot plus Elmo doll, and so much more! Please bring your own camera for any pictures you wish to take and wear your favorite Sesame Street attire if you wish.
