Here There Be Pirates

Bring in your family to meet Captain William Mayhem (from the Pirate Museum) and be mystified by his magical pirate talents. See some cool pirate artifacts during this hour long pirate adventure show. This very special Viva Florida 500 and Summer Reading Wrap up program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before each show.  Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that the Summer Reading Programs are geared toward the school-age child.

We'll also read about Penguin and Pinecone, a pair who form an unlikely, but adorable, avian friendship.

Little Ones Craft Time: Wednesdays @ 10:45am
Preschool Storytime Wednesdays @ 11:05am
Storytimes are every Wednesday through July 31. Baby & Toddler storytimes are aimed at children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and is aimed at teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs. Come for songs, stories, and fun. We look forward to seeing you all!! To ensure  everyone is able to enjoy quality story times, we have a maximum capacity (first come, first served) of 55. For more information on storytimes at other branches, please click here.

 

Children's Summer Reading Program

Starting June 10, Reading Logs and will be available for pickup
. All children are invited to participate in our summer reading program which includes books and other prizes for reading.  We will have weekly performances from magician Mark Alan, LB Reptile Experience, Saltwater Cowgirls, and much more.  All performances, the character visits, craft programs, and the book prizes are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

 

Nature Detective Workshops for Kids

Nature DetectivesFriday, July 19 @ 2 pm & again @ 3pm (repeat workshop)
Children ages 6-12 are invited to become Nature Detectives and learn all about lizards and how these pollinators relate to gardening at these hands-on workshops. Every child will receive free gardening goodies, including Nature Detective notebooks, and have fun learning all about our wonderful Florida lizards and how spot to them. These workshops are designed by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants, presented by the Garden Circles, and sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine and the Friends of the Anastasia Island Library. Children's FLYP Event: Ice Cream Party with Pete the Cat

Come in to help us celebrate the end of our Summer Reading Program with the uber popular, Pete the Cat. We'll be making some totally groovy crafts while eating ice cream. Be sure to bring your cameras. Thanks to Ms. Nicole of the Anastasia Island Branch Library for partnering with us to provide the crafts and the Pete the Cat visit. The ice cream and bottled water for this program are generously provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

 

Summer Reading Program: Dig In

Everyone is invited to join us for a fun Viva Florida 500 event. The “Spice Girls”,  CayANNE and Pepper (Ms. Anne and Ms. Amy from our Ponte Vedra Branch), will be here for an interactive program in our Ol’ Florida Kitchen as we “Dig In” to stories, songs, and more. Audience participation is guaranteed to get the kids involved. To ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the program, there will be 95 tickets available 1 hour before the show. Children of all ages may attend; please be aware, however, that Summer Reading Programs are geared toward the school-age child.

Bring in the kids for a fun Viva Florida 500 event and dance to the music of St. Augustine’s own Saltwater Cowgirls as they serenade us with music inspired by the ocean and sea creatures.
