Viva Florida 500 Event: St. Augustine Cookery

Join us for this special culinary event highlighting recipes handed down by Spanish, French, English, and American settlers of the nation's oldest city. Guest chef, Matt Ryan, will lead you step-by-step in preparing Minorcan Clam Chowder, spicing things up with datil peppers, and enticing your sweet tooth with an orange dessert. Enjoy samples and get new recipes to take home. The program is open and free to the public, and sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

 

Friends of the Library Event: Mayberry Momma™

Please join us for a walk down memory lane to the good ole days of Mayberry and share in good times. St. Augustine’s own Mayberry Momma™, Jewell M.Kutzer, will be on hand to share her wit and stories about growing up in the same small town as Andy Griffith. So, y’all bring your own brown bag lunch, and enjoy this special event. Dessert and coffee will be served. This program is open and free to the public, and sponsored by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.

 

Writers' Workshop: From Manuscript to Printed Page

Whether you are a first time author, or already have several books written, publishing today is a daunting task. As publishing in general and epublishing in particular are in constant flux, it’s hard to know the best route to take. This program will explore where publishing stands now, the issues, and what methods are available to get your book into print. Presented by guest speakers and award-winning authors, Michael King and Jeff Swesky. This FREE workshop for writers is brought to you through a partnership between the Florida Writers Association Ancient City Chapter and the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.

 

New Release Family Film Event

Celebrate the end of the school day with us cinematically!  We'll be showing a new release film for the whole family.  Please call the Main Library @ 904.827.6940 for movie title and rating. Plenty of pillow seating and FREE organic popcorn, courtesy of Diane's Natural Food Market! 

 

March Storytimes @ Main Library

Weekly Storytimes @ Main LibraryIt's already March, and we'll turn GREEN if you don't  join us each week for all the laughs of storytime.  We'll share books, sing songs, tell stories, make crafts, & lots of fun!  Thursdays, March 7, 14, 21, & 28!
Baby Time 10:15 am
A gentle lapsit program with action rhymes, fingerplays, and first books for babies.  For infants & pre-walkers only, please.
Toddler Time 11 am
We'll sing, we'll dance, and share our excitement for books and learning at the library. Don't be shy and bring your dancing shoes!
Preschool Storytime 11:30 am
"Big Kids" get a storytime of their own. Longer stories, a variety of early literacy concepts, listening, and pre-classroom skills.  Perfect for 3-5 year olds.

 

J.A.A.M. (Japanese Anime At Main)

JAAMMonday, March 18 @ 5 pm
Tweens, teens, and young twenty-somethings are invited to the monthly meeting of our anime club at the Main Library, where you can meet others with similar interests. We’ll be viewing assorted Anime & enjoying Japanese candy.  Feel free to wear a costume if you’d like and come JAAM with us!

 

MAIN-iac Science Lab

Join us after school for a hands-on, minds-on science program and work closely with our very own mad scientists from the Children's Department. Explore a variety of science topics through fun experiments, activities, and lively discussions.  All materials for experiments provided!  If you can't make it to our science lab, check out some of our amazing science project books.
