PreK Storytime: National Library Week

Tuesday, April 14 @ 11 am

Join us and celebrate National Library Week at our PreK Storytime! PreK Storytime is for children ages 4-5 and is held in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room. This is an engaging story time featuring stories about the library, songs and crafting.  All children's programs are sponsored by the Friends of Main Library St. Augustine.  We hope to see you there!

 

Toddler Time: National Library Week

Thursday, April 16 @ 11 am

Help celebrate National Library Week at our Toddler Time Storytime. Toddler Time is a storytime program designed for children ages 1-3 years of age.  Join us in the Large Meeting Room for a lively program of singing, dancing and stories about the Library!  Our first program is at 11am with a repeat at 11:30.  See you there! All children's programs are sponsored by the Friends of Main Library St. Augustine.

Storytimes are hosted by Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia and they run through April 30th.  Storytimes will resume in June.

Seven Principles of Holistic Investing

Wednesday, April 22 @ 4:30 pm

REGISTRATION REQUIRED. During this one hour session, attendees will learn the Seven Principles of Holistic Investing in relation to mutual funds and stocks. Author and instructor, Joe Ippolito, has 30 years of experience in investing and will happily answer questions. Call the Main Library at 904.827.6940 to register. This program is free and open to the public. 

 

MAIN-iac Science Labs: Hour of Code

Thursday, April 16 @ 4 pm
Explore computer programming for kids with the world wide Hour of Code! Teens and pre-teens can explore a basic introduction to computer science and even learn basic programming skills using the Angry Birds platform. The lessons increase in difficulty as you move through them so come back each month to increase your skills. This one hour program is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be guided lessons as well as individual and group exploration. You can bring your own laptop or tablet or you can borrow one of ours. Supplies are limited. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

 

MAIN-iac Science Labs: FLYP edition - SUPERGOO!

Thursday, May 14 @ 4pm
Join mad scientists, Mr. Andy and Ms. Marcia, as they dive into science. Young science enthusiasts, ages 6-16, are invited to join Main-iac Labs and have fun with our hands-on experiments. In this special FLYP edition of MAIN-iac Science Labs, we'll be making and experimenting with SUPERGOO! Everyone will get to make their own supergoo to take home for further experiments. Seating is limited so be sure to arrive early. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

 

MAIN-iac Science Labs: rocket scientists wanted!

Thursday, March 19 @ 4pm
Join mad scientists, Mr. Andy and Ms. Marcia, as they dive into science. Young science enthusiasts, ages 6-16, are invited to join Main-iac Labs and have fun with our hands on experiments. This month's theme is Water Bottle Rockets. Bring in your own water bottle and get ready for launch! Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

 

Family Film Series

Thursday April 2 @ 4 pm
Join us each month for a fun family film in the large meeting room. This month we are featuring another great new release! The Fairies are at it again and this time they meet a fearsome beast. Is it friend or foe? Rated PG. Free popcorn while it lasts. Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.

The Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine book sale features books of all kinds and items such as DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, and audio books. Hardback books cost $1.00 and paperbacks cost $.50, with many children's books priced even lower. A selection of special books is individually priced at $3.00 and up. The book sale is held as a fundraiser. All sale proceeds support programs and other needs of the Main Library.
