Spend an hour with one of Florida’s favorite writers, Patrick D. Smith, as he takes you on a nostalgic journey to a Florida that exists today only in books. From this documentary, you'll get to know both the author, and the state of Florida, better as this soft spoken gentleman introduces you to the Florida of his youth. You'll be touched by the true stories of his adventures along the way to writing his books, many of which are now modern-day classics. Light snacks provided by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.

Teddy Bears and other stuffed critters are invited to a special sleepover event at the Main Library. Your human child can join you at a fun party celebrating teddy bears with stories, songs, crafts, snacks, and much more. After the party is over teddy bears get to spend the night at the library and have all kinds of adventures. When you get picked up and go home, you'll have a special souvenir to can give to your family.

We invite you to join us each week for all the laughs of storytime. We'll share some of our favorite books, sing songs, play music, tell interactive stories, make crafts, and have lots of fun. Themes for January include: Winter, Teddy Bears, Colors, I Love Books!, and Counting.
Baby Time 10:15am: A gentle lapsit program with action rhymes, fingerplays, and first books for babies. For pre-walkers only, please.
Toddler Time 11am: We'll sing, we'll dance, and share our excitement for books and learning at the library. Don't be shy and bring your dancing shoes.
Preschool Storytime 11:30am: "Big Kids" get a storytime of their own, including longer stories, a variety of early literacy concepts, listening, and pre-classroom skills. Perfect for 3-5 year olds.

Join us after school for a hands-on, minds-on science program and work closely with our very own mad scientists from the Children's Department. Explore a variety of science topics through fun experiments, activities, and lively discussions. All materials for experiments are provided.
