Join us this summer during this back-to-school workshop at the Main Library. Learn the four types of essays that will help you receive that college acceptance letter or scholarship! Together we'll develop your main statement, outline, and first draft.

Do you love bugs? All children ages 6 - 12 are invited to become a true Nature Hero and learn all about dragonflies and hummingbirds, two amazing pollinators, with the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants! These fun, educational workshops are hands-on with take-home gardening goodies for you. The second workshop is a repeat of the first. Explore computer programming for kids with the world wide Hour of Code! Teens and pre-teens can explore a basic introduction to computer science and even learn basic programming skills using popular video game characters. The lessons increase in difficulty as you move through them so come back each month to improve your skills. This one hour program is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be guided lessons as well as individual and group exploration. Join mad scientists, Mr. Andy and Ms. Marcia, as they dive into science. Young science enthusiasts, ages 6-16, are invited to join Main-iac Labs and have fun with our hands-on experiments. In this special FLYP edition of MAIN-iac Science Labs, we'll be learning about our favorite science hero, Albert Einstein. We'll even try some experiments based on his scientific theories. She will present Sensational Succulents - Container Gardening. For this program she will share some ideas and designs for container gardens of cacti and other succulents.
