How To Turn Factual Research Into Astounding Fiction

Author Arliss Ryan will present on turning your factual research into riveting fiction that will keep readers turning pages late into the night. Using excerpts from her novels, this “craft of writing” program will demonstrate a variety of creative techniques for integrating research and other background information into a story. You will learn how to:

  • Incorporate historical facts and other types of research into your novel without bogging down the story;
  • Spread your research throughout your novel to create tension and advance the plot;
  • Turn hard facts into vivid emotions that make your characters come alive

This meeting is sponsored by the FWA/ACC and the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. All book sales benefit the Friends of the Library. Doors open at 10am. All meetings are free and open to the public.
