Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's 1st Teen Summer Reading Program will run from June 1 - August 4. All middle school and high school students (rising 6th - 12th graders ONLY) are invited to participate in your own summer reading program! Simply read whatever you want and fill out a review on each book read to be entered into a weekly raffle. Review forms are available at the Reference Desk. Weekly prizes are brand-new copies of Scholastic titles for middle and high school youth purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library! All book reviews will be entered into the grand prize raffle in August. Please call the Library at 827-6950 with any questions. PLEASE NOTE: Our Teen Summer Reading Program runs concurrently with our Adult Summer Reading Program, both sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library!

Who says kids have all the fun? Starting the first week in June through the first week in August adults can participate in our Adult Summer Reading Program for weekly and grand prizes at the end of the program. Just submit a brief review of any book that you read during this time period and you’ll be entered for weekly and program end raffle drawings. The more you read the more chances you have of winning! Just for Babies - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings, June - July, at 10:15 AM; babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby.
Family Storytime - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings, June - July, at 11 AM; aimed at children 16 months - 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away! Find more information on systemwide storytimes.

Are you starting your first job, graduating from high school, or heading off to college? Whatever the reason, every teen needs to learn how to manage money. The St. Johns River Chapter of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the St. Johns County Public Library System are teaming up to offer this full day (10am to 3:30pm) workshop to teens age 15-20. Subjects covered will be budgeting, saving, personal investing, using credit wisely, avoiding identity theft and more. Class size is limited so call us at 827-6950 or stop by the Reference Desk to register! This workshop is sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and lunch will be provided by the St. Johns River Chapter of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
"Fun with Flowers...for KIDS!" Workshops
Saturday, July 14 @ 2 pm & 3 pm (repeat workshop)
Pre-Registration for these workshops begins Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and is required as space is limited. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants - members of the Garden Club of St. Augustine - are returning for the third summer in a row! Children ages 5 - 12 are invited to become "Bee Detectives", to "make and take" child-friendly, creative floral arrangements using food and flowers, and to meet Eric, a professional beekeeper coming to teach you all about bees and why not to be afraid of our pollinators!
These workshops are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and the Garden Club of St. Augustine and in collaboration with the St. Johns County Beekeepers Association. PLEASE NOTE: Beekeeper Eric will be bringing a safe, live hive of honeybees and children under the age of 10 must have a parent or guardian present for the duration of the program per the library's policy!
