Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library's 1st Teen Summer Reading Program will run from June 1 - August 4. All middle school and high school students (rising 6th - 12th graders ONLY) are invited to participate in your own summer reading program! Simply read whatever you want and fill out a review on each book read to be entered into a weekly raffle. Review forms are available at the Reference Desk. Weekly prizes are brand-new copies of Scholastic titles for middle and high school youth purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library! All book reviews will be entered into the grand prize raffle in August. Please call the Library at 827-6950 with any questions. PLEASE NOTE: Our Teen Summer Reading Program runs concurrently with our Adult Summer Reading Program, both sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library!
FLYP (Children's Summer Reading Program) begins!
June 17 - August 11
Our summer reading program for children begins Sunday, June 17. Reading logs will be available on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. During FLYP (June 17 - August 11), for every 5 days you read, you win a prize! Simply mark the days you read or are read to with an "x" - attending weekly FLYP events on Thursday also counts as a day read. We look forward to encouraging a summer of reading with special events and prizes at the library, all generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library!
"Just for Babies" and Family Storytime - Summer 2012

Just for Babies - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings, June - July, at 10:15 AM; babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby.
Family Storytime - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings, June - July, at 11 AM; aimed at children 16 months - 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away! Find more information on systemwide storytimes.

Family Game Time
Wednesday, June 27 from 3 - 6 pm
On the 4th Wednesday of every month between 3 - 6 pm, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games! Simply use your library card or driver's license to check out a board game or two from the Reference Desk and play anywhere in the library. Call the Library at 827-6950 for more details. All board games are generously provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
LEGO Club for Tweens
Wednesday, June 13 from 4 - 5 pm
For tweens ages 8 - 13 only! Join our LEGO Club at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library! Come on out and bring your friends for an afternoon of fun building with Legos and hanging out at the library. This Club will meet once a month through December, on the second Wednesday of each month, in the Small Conference Room. No registration and it's free! Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos.
Teen Gaming Night
Wednesday, June 6 from 5 - 7 pm
School's out for the summer! Enjoy your first evening of freedom with gaming at the library. For middle and high school students ages 11 - 18 ONLY - have fun with your friends at the library and play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), Nintendo Wii, and X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing! Snacks will be served. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, Sabina of GameStop, and Sean of Sony PlayStation. Call 827-6950 for more details!
Summer Crafts with Teens
Saturday, June 9 from 3 - 4 pm
All elementary-aged children, ages 5 - 11, are invited to make fun crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club! All materials are provided, no registration needed, and it's FREE! NOTE: All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. This program will continue once a month - on Saturdays during the summer - as Summer Crafts with Teens. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Children's FLYP Event: Fire Dept. and Ice Cream at Bird Island Park

This program will be held indoors in case of rain.
Celebrate an incredible summer of reading and programs with the St. Johns County Fire Fighters and Ice Cream! We will be serving ice cream and giving you an opportunity to explore the fire truck and meet real fire fighters outside at Bird Island Park, located directly behind the library. We can't wait to celebrate our young readers!
The whole family is welcome; please be aware, however, that FLYP Programs are geared toward the school-age child. We look forward to seeing you at the library!
