LEGO Club for Tweens

LegoWednesday, February 19 @ 4pm
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, tweens in 4th-7th grades are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too.

 

Teen Gaming Night

Teens (Ages 13-18) are invited to have fun with friends at the library. Play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), our new Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Wii, or X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Snacks are provided. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and our friends at Sony. Call the library at 827-6950 for more details.

 

After-School Crafts with Teens

Children (K - 5th grade), and their caregivers, are invited to make crafts with the teens of Nease High School's Arts in Motion Club. Materials are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, no registration is needed, and it's free. Please Note:  All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.

 

Teens Read with Kids

All children are invited to be read to by a teen, or practice reading to a teen, in the Children's Department - this program is presented by the teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club. Select what you'd like to hear, read from any of our books, or bring your favorites from home. Please note:  All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program and to be a teen participating in the program, you must be a member of the Ponte Vedra High School Book Club.


Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants Presents Spring Into Flowers

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants (Cathy and Marilyn, members of the Garden Club of St. Augustine) is ready to help you discover the meanings of flowers and how they can come together in beautiful springtime arrangements. If you wish, buy raffle tickets from the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library to win the arrangements the Sisterhood creates, with the proceeds helping to sponsor this event. Doors will open at 1:30pm and light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

 

Take Your Child to the Library Day: Saturday Storytime with Ms. Anne

Roll out of bed, skip the Saturday morning cartoons, and join Ms. Anne for a special Saturday Storytime and wear your pajamas if you wish. We're celebrating Take Your Child to the Library Day and what better way to do so than with a storytime including all the fun of our weekly Family Storytimes - songs, dancing, stories, nursery rhymes, crafts, and more? The whole family is invited and consider signing your child(ren) up for a library card, too. It's never too early to get one.


Just for Babies and Family Storytimes

Just for Babies - Held the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with multiple children are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.

Family Storytime - Held every Tuesday morning at 11am; for children 16 months - 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here.

St. Johns Reads Event: Florida Fun Family Storytime

This year's St. Johns Reads selection is A Land Remembered by Patrick Smith, with the kids enjoying a special Florida-themed Family Storytime. JEA Home Energy and Water Evaluation Workshop

Saturday, January 25 from 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Become an energy detective at one of JEA's free one-hour workshops, where you and your family can learn about conserving energy, lowering utility costs, identifying problem areas in your home, and tips on how to fix them. Participants will learn how to use our FREE Do-It-Yourself Home Energy and Water Evaluation Kit. A limited number of backpacks will be available at this hour-long workshop for checkout.
