Pop-In Storytime with NHS

Giggling at StorytimeStop in for our brand new "Pop-In Storytime" hosted by the National Honor Society of Pedro Menendez High School! Come by between 11am and 12pm for fun stories with local teens. This program will take place the first Saturday of every month that school is in session.

Kids of all ages are invited to learn about art history through exploration with different media. We'll be learning this month about the mysterious graffiti artist Banksy! This free program is sponsored by the State of the Arts grant from the St. Johns Cultural Council.

St. Johns Reads Event: The Three Mrs. Flaglers

Diane Jacoby performs a riveting, three-act portrayal of three distinctively captivating women who won the heart of Henry Flagler. As a third generation Floridian, Jacoby brings an insider's view as her grandfather was chosen for the honor of driving the first train across the newly completed Overseas Railway from Miami to Key West in 1912. Refreshments will be
provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

 

St. Johns Reads Event: End of the Line Genealogy

The 1935 Labor Day hurricane destroyed an automobile highway being built by Bonus Army vets alongside the path originally blazed by Henry Flagler. Over 200 WWI vets on the project were killed. Join us as we examine evidence left by some of these veterans and learn how you can use similar records to research your ancestors from this time period. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

 

St. Johns Reads Event: Mr. Flagler's St. Augustine

Mr. Flagler's St. AugustineThomas Graham, professor emeritus of history at Flagler College, will discuss his latest book, Mr. Flagler’s St. Augustine. This work traces oil magnate Henry M. Flagler’s quest to transform the nation’s Oldest City into a highly desirable vacation destination for the rich. Join us as Graham brings fascinating details of the Gilded Age to life. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.
