STEM Wednesday: Bubble Mania

Learn about the science of bubbles. Why are bubbles round? What causes colors in bubbles? Why does soap help make bubbles? Plus, see how big of a bubble you can make with our giant bubble makers. And, you can make your own bubble maker to take home.

American Sign Language Extravaganza

Join us for a family-oriented morning of American Sign Language presented by the Creekside High School Sign Language Class.  Focus will be on ASL lessons in colors and animals.  

 

Human Trafficking Seminar for Adults and Teens

Modern day slavery is a huge human rights problem. According to the United Nations, over 27 million people in the world are enslaved. Please join us for an eye-opening seminar presented by St. Augustine resident Sarah Symons, founder of Made by Survivors, an international charity helping survivors of human trafficking and slavery to rebuild their lives with education, employment, and entrepreneurship.

 

LEGO Club for Tweens (New and Expanded Time)

Wednesday, January 21 from 3pm - 4:30pm

LegoTweens in 4th-7th grades are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too.

 

Teen Gaming Night

Teens (Ages 13-18) are invited to have fun with friends at the library. Play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Wii, or X-Box 360 set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Don't worry about waiting for a turn - we'll have board games to play. Snacks will be provided. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and our friends at Sony. Call the library at 827-6950 for more details.

 

Incredible Edibles Part II: Pie
