Knit Wits Knitting Club for Kids & Teens

The Knit Wits is a family affair. Kids 8-17 are welcome to learn to knit, or bring along mom so she can learn too. Learn to knit, or bring in something you’ve already started, and knit with the group. Please bring your own knitting needles, if you have them.



Children's Book Week: Author Visit by Jake Marcionette

Celebrate Children's Book Week with New York Times best-selling teen author,  Ponte Vedra resident, and library patron, Jake Marcionette. He will sign copies of his book, Just Jake, which will be available for purchase. Meet Jake, find out more about his book based on his middle school adventures, discover how he made it big, and celebrate our now famous library patron. Light refreshments will be served and we will be raffling off copies of Jake's book thanks to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Celebrate Teen Literature Day: Book Talks

Attention teens: We are seeking Book Talks that celebrate teen literature to post on the Southeast Blog. Book Talks may be no more than 30 seconds and must be about a teen book. Fiction, non-fiction, and graphic novels are all acceptable. Book Talks need to be submitted to Miss Kristine or Miss Alex by Thursday, April 17. Call the library at 827-6900 for more information.


National Library Week: Teen Movie Night

All teens (Ages 13 - 18) are invited to celebrate National Library Week's Support Teen Literature Day with a new movie (rated PG-13) based on a popular book by J.R.R. Tolkien. Hobbit-related prizes will be raffled and pizza and sodas will be served thanks to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Celebrate National Library Week's Support Teen Literature Day (Thursday, April 17) all week by checking out our display of awesome teen books loved by both teens and adults. Teen books have gained popularity over the years and now many teen series and titles - The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars, Twilight, Percy Jackson, and so many more - are as beloved by adults as they are by teens. Check one (or several!) of these books out and find out what the fuss is about.


Earth Day Nature Film

In honor of Earth Day, children, teens, and families are invited to view a film about an adorable baby chimp named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph. Money Smart Week: Teen Coffeehouse

Calling all teen artists, poets, and scholars: come share your drawings, sketches, poems, stories... anything. We will meet in the Teen Lounge and share our art and the art of others. Bring your sketchbooks, journals, and your own coffee mug and we'll fill it with decaf coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or apple cider. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

Family Game Time

Every 4th Wednesday of the month, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games, including Monopoly, Connect Four, Candy Land, Scrabble, Chutes & Ladders, Uno, and many more. Simply use your library card, or driver's license, to check out the games. All board games - including our new ones (Trivial Pursuit Family Edition, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Don't Drop the Egg, Super Mario Brothers Checkers, and Apples to Apples Disney Edition) are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.


LEGO Club for Tweens

Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, tweens in 4th-7th grades are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too. We love our tweens and that they use our library - happy National Library Week.
