Love watching anime or reading manga? Tweens, teens, and young twenty-somethings are invited to the monthly meeting of our anime club, where you can meet others with similar interests. Calling all teen artists, poets, and scholars: It’s time to go back to school, so join us for a school supplies trade. Bring in a folder or notebook to decorate and give away to another teen. Don’t forget to bring artwork to share and your mug and we’ll fill it up with hot chocolate, tea, or decaf coffee, compliments of the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

Meet your local superheroes at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library on Friday at 11am. Local police and firefighters will join us to explain what they do on the job, how we can be safe, and let us explore their "superhero" vehicles. Any children who wish to come dressed as their favorite superheroes are welcome to do so. Bring the whole family for this fun and educational event.

All rising 6th - 12th graders are invited to join us for our final Teen Summer Reading Program movie based on a book celebrating the theme Beneath the Surface. Join us for The Host, based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. According to Amazon.com, "...Earth has been taken over by aliens in crisp white outfits - each one taking over a human 'host' so that the alien race can save the planet." Everything and everyone are not as they seem on the surface. Pizza and sodas will be served and copies of the book will be raffled. For those who have read the book, a copy of the movie will be raffled to those who submit a book review at the program. Don't forget to keep turning in your book reviews for the Teen Summer Reading Program. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Magician Mark Alan presents an anti-bullying program that's sure to make a difference. S.T.A.N.D. Against Bullying is a 45-minute program that deals with this serious topic in a fun manner using comedy, magic, ventriloquism, musical routines, and lots of interaction to help give kids the tools to take a stand against bullying. This program is intended for elementary-age children, but is fun for all. Thank you to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for generously sponsoring this important program, particularly before school starts.
