St. Johns Reads Event: Teen/Tween Survival Cooking

Let’s juice it. In honor of the St. Johns Reads Florida-based book A Land Remembered, teens and tweens (Ages 11-18) are invited to learn about and cook with our favorite citrus fruit: oranges. Registration is required. Please call 827-6900 to register.

Calling all teen artists, poets, and scholars: come share your drawings, sketches, poems, stories...anything. We will meet in the Teen Lounge and share our art and the art of others. Bring your sketchbooks, journals, and your own coffee mug and we'll fill it with decaf coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or apple cider. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southeast Branch Library.

Sharpen your writing skills - we'll be handwriting friendly letters to other library teens. No typing allowed.

 

Crafty Candles for Teens

Teen Craft: Magazine Crafts

Teens (ages 12-17), come get crafty by making magazine bowls. We'll show you how to transform old discarded magazines into some beautiful bowls you can use in your rooms. This is a free program, sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library.

 

 

After School Gaming

After School GamingThursday, January 23 & 30 from 3pm - 5pm
School-age children, tweens, and teens choose what they want to play after school at the Main Library. A selection of video game choices for X-box 360, PS3, & Wii consoles will be offered. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County & Sony.

 

Teen Book Club

Sixteen-year-old Lutie Painter has skipped school for the first time, has borded a bus and is headed toward danger. Throughout her small town, other people start their days, some with worry, others with hopes, and still others with anger. All of these lives will become interwined in this story, set in a southern town.

 

J.A.A.M. (Japanese Anime At Main)

Do you love watching anime or reading manga? Tweens, teens, and young twenty-somethings are invited to the monthly meeting of our anime club, where you can meet others with similar interests. Feel free to wear a costume if you’d like and come "JAAM" with us. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library of St. Johns County.


Family Bingo for Books

Looking for fun for the whole family? Come in and play Bingo for Books. Everyone is guaranteed to go home with at least one free book. Books are generously donated by the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library.
