Teen Craft: Make Your Own Journal

Teens (Age 12+) are invited to celebrate Banned Books Week with us by creating personalized journals. We'll have all the supplies needed to create a stylish journal; all you need to bring is your imagination. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Library.

 

 

Celebrate National Comic Book Day with Andre Frattino

Celebrate National Comic Book Day with author/illustrator, Andre Frattino. He will be making a special appearance at the Anastasia Island Branch Library to bring alive his artwork for kids of all ages. Andre has appeared at the St. Augustine Beach Art Association and other libraries and will be a participant in this year’s Florida Heritage Book Festival.

 

Peace Day Kids & Teen Craft Event

Kids and teens, celebrate International Peace Day by creating fabulous peace crafts. We'll make pinwheels, create beautiful chalk murals, make peace rocks, and create a zen garden space. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Library.

 

Teen Event: National Milkshake Day Celebration

Teens (Age 12-17) are invited to make delicious smoothies and milkshakes in honor of National Milkshake Day. We'll supply fruit, juice, and ice for smoothies as well as chocolate, peanut butter, and almond milk for milkshakes. This tasty progam is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Library.

 

 

LEGO Club for Tweens

LegoWednesday, September 18 @ 4pm
Tweens in 4th-7th grades are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too.

 

Teen Gaming Night

Teens (Age 13-18) are invited to have fun with friends at the library. Play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3 (with the new Move), Nintendo Wii, and X-Box 360 (with the new Kinect) set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Snacks are provided. Teen Advisory Board

Teens (Age 13-18) are invited to join our Teen Advisory Board and have a say in the materials we order for teens, the teen programs we offer, and much more at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Participation in the Teen Advisory Board counts as service hours and snacks are provided by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Join us for our meeting and get involved.

Meet Your Local Superheroes

Friday, August 9 @ 11am

fire truckMeet your local superheroes at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library on Friday at 11am. Local police and firefighters will join us to explain what they do on the job, how we can be safe, and let us explore their "superhero" vehicles. Any children who wish to come dressed as their favorite superheroes are welcome to do so. Bring the whole family for this fun and educational event.

 

Teen Summer Reading Program Movie Event: The Host

The Host

Wednesday, August 14 @ 2pm

All rising 6th - 12th graders are invited to join us for our final Teen Summer Reading Program movie based on a book celebrating the theme Beneath the Surface. Join us for The Host, based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. According to Amazon.com, "...Earth has been taken over by aliens in crisp white outfits - each one taking over a human 'host' so that the alien race can save the planet." Everything and everyone are not as they seem on the surface. Pizza and sodas will be served and copies of the book will be raffled. For those who have read the book, a copy of the movie will be raffled to those who submit a book review at the program. Don't forget to keep turning in your book reviews for the Teen Summer Reading Program. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
