Summer Reading Event: Teen Graphic Novel Workshop

Are you a teen who loves graphic novels? Ever thought of creating one yourself? All middle school and high school students are invited to this workshop on making comics with Andre Frattino, local author of two graphic novels for teens, The Reaper of St. George Street and Lost Souls of Savannah, featuring teen ghost hunters from St. Augustine. Andre will show you what it takes to become a graphic novel author with opportunities to create your own art if you wish. All teen graphic novel enthusiasts are encouraged to participate in this hands-on workshop. Please call the Library at 827-6960 with any questions -- this workshop is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library.

International Games Day Event: Teen Gamers

We'll be breaking out our newest addition: the Wii U. Refreshments will be served. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Bartram Trail Branch Library.

FAFSA Workshop

Thursday, February 6 @ 6:30pm

Do you have a child entering college? Every student who applies to college must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to apply for federal student aid (loans or grants) and most state and individual college aid. Please join financial aid director, Wayne Bodiford, for help understanding the FAFSA and college aid process.

LegoLEGO Club for Tweens: Ponte Vedra
Wednesday, December 17 @ 4pm

Tweens in 4th-7th grades (ages 9 - 13) are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out. No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too.

 

Never Let Me GoTeen Book Club: Hastings
Saturday, December 20 @ 10am

Pick up a copy of Never Let Me Go by Kasuo Ishiguro, and be drawn into a subtle sci-fi page-turner. Then, join us for a talk and refreshments. New members are always welcome to the Teen Book Club. All titles are chosen by club members.

JAAMJ.A.A.M.: Japanese Anime At Main

Do you love watching anime or reading manga? Tweens, teens, and young twenty-somethings are invited to the monthly meeting of our anime club, where you can meet others with similar interests. Feel free to wear a costume if you’d like and come "JAAM" with us. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library of the Main Library St. Augustine.

 

Teen Movie EventTeen Movie & Pizza Event: Anastasia Island
Wednesday, December 31 @ 1pm

Teens (11-18) can come into the library to eat some pizza and watch a newly released movie about a group of space criminals who must work together to stop the fanatical villain, Ronan the Accuser, from destroying the galaxy. The pizza is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. (PG13)
