Tai-Chi: Enter the Healing Journey - This EVENT has been CANCELLED!

Unfortunately, this class has been cancelled.  Please join us again on September 25, for the next Tai Chi class. In class, students will perform soft, continuous movements that will allow them to receive many positive aspects of renewed health, while developing internal stillness. Some of the benefits of Tai-Chi include: relief from muscular tension and anxiety, increased concentration and memory, enhanced sensory awareness, and improved balance. This free workshop is presented by Hector M. Ruiz, Jr., a certified instructor in Tai-Chi and Qi Gong.

 

Gentle Stretching with Gina

This free class emphasizes stretching, coordination of breath with movement, and attention to alignment and is designed to create breath awareness, enhance balance, and increase flexibility. Stretching is great for those who are experiencing joint sensitivity, or overall stiffness. Wear loose clothing, bring a towel & mat. Presented by yoga instructor, Gina Mercado.

Join us each Saturday afternoon  for a showing of one of our favorite librarian movies featuring Noah Wyle. After retrieving the philosopher's stone at an auction but losing his girlfriend, The Librarian, Flynn Carsen has a breakdown. Charlene and Judson ask him to spend some time on vacation. Flynn travels to New Orleans and he has a crush on a French singer (Simone Renoir). However he discloses that she is the guardian of a key to access the Judas Chalice that is capable to resurrect vampires. Call the library at 209-3730 for movie title.

 

Flood Determination & Mitigation Assistance

Flood MitigationTuesday, September 23 @ 10am

James Schock, of the St. Johns County Building Services Division, will be in to assist residents with flood information. He can help you with floodplain determinations for your property, how to use the iMap application located on the county website, learn your evacuation zone, and ways you may be able to mitigate against flood and wind losses. He is a professional engineer, a certified Building Official as well as a certified Floodplain Manager, a Florida Building Commissioner, and is the Chair for the Structural Technical Advisory Committee for the State of Florida. He will be at the library from 10am until 4pm, so feel free to drop by when it’s convenient for you.

 

Peace Day Kids & Teen Craft Event

Meet the Beach Police Safety Storytime
