Teen Movie EventTeens (11-18) can come into the library to eat some pizza and watch a newly released movie about a group of space criminals who must work together to stop the fanatical villain, Ronan the Accuser, from destroying the galaxy. The pizza is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. (PG13)

AI StorytimesThere will be no Wednesday storytimes in December.  Wednesday Storytimes will resume January 7. Baby & Toddler storytimes are for children up to 18 months. Craft time is open to all children and focuses on teaching scissor, glue and coloring skills. Preschool storytimes are open to any child who can sit for longer stories and participate in active songs, counting and colors in Spanish.

Human Trafficking Seminar for Adults and Teens

Modern day slavery is a huge human rights problem. According to the United Nations, over 27 million people in the world are enslaved. Please join us for an eye-opening seminar presented by St. Augustine resident Sarah Symons, founder of Made by Survivors, an international charity helping survivors of human trafficking and slavery to rebuild their lives with education, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Acrylic Painting Class for Adults

Seniors and adults, discover art through the Library and its resources. Those who have never held a paintbrush, mixed colors, or created a personal masterpiece will have the opportunity to do so completely free of charge. This 4-hour workshop will include a light lunch and is sponsored by the St. Johns Cultural Council, the State of the Arts License Plate Program, and the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. AARP Tax Assistance

The AARP Tax-Aide program offers free, one-on-one counseling to help individuals prepare basic tax forms, including the 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, and other standard schedules. Counseling is available to all low-to-middle income taxpayers, regardless of age. No advance registration is needed, people will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Individuals must bring a photo ID, last year's tax return, and all relevant tax information with them.
