Applying to college can seem like a daunting task--But one thing that you shouldn’t worry about is the application essay. This class will explain what colleges are looking for in those essays they ask you to write. By the end of the class series, you should have a good grasp of what makes a solid essay—arguably the most important part of any application. The  Devil in the White CityThe Devil in the White City tells the story of two different men. The architect responsible for constructing the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, Daniel H. Burnham, and H.H. Holmes, who at first appears to be a doctor, but is actually a murderer. Burnham overcomes many obstacles to build the White City and his trials and tribulations are marked along with appearances by key historical figures. Holmes’ World Fair Hotel where he lured his victims is also documented. Larson is a magnificent storyteller and brings to life the great fair that obsessed both master builder and serial killer.    New members are always welcome.

They appeared on the cover of Life Magazine, became fashion icons, and even had tea with Jackie Kennedy. Their newfound status rocketed them to fame, and as their status rose, they leaned on one another to get through tragedies both great and small. The bonds they created decades ago still exist today, over half a century later. This true story provides an inside look into the women who stood alongside some of history’s biggest heroes. The travel industry aids these travelers by providing additional services and greater accommodations. Meanwhile, the  abundance of information on accessible travel is astounding -- much of it generated by misinformation.
