Kids' Summer Reading Program: Heroes of Music by Tom Santoni

Friday, July 17 @ 3pm

What is a hero?  Do you have any heroes?  Can a musician be a hero?  In this workshop, we’ll talk about some of the conductors, composers and musicians that are thought of as heroes, and we’ll listen to clips of their music.  We’ll also listen to some of Mr. Santoni's personal musical heroes from classical to rap music.  C’mon down, open your ears, listen with your heart and enjoy the great sounds! This program will be presented at the W.E. Harris Center, Harris Street.

Nature Detectives Workshops for Kids

Wednesday, July 22 @ 1:00 & 2:30  (two sessions)

Pre-registration required as space and materials are limited! Starting Tuesday, June 9, call 827-6970 or visit the front desk of the Hastings Branch Library to register!

Children ages 6-12 are invited to become true Nature Heroes and learn all about dragonflies and hummingbirds, two amazing pollinators, with the Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants! These fun, educational workshops are hands-on with take-home gardening goodies for you. The second workshop is a repeat of the first. These workshops are generously sponsored by the Garden Club of St. Augustine. Please Note: All children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.

William Bartram Living History Program

Children are invited to explore life along the St. Johns River as experienced by William H.  Bartram. Mike Adams performs as Bartram, recounting the "critters" he encountered in the wilds of Florida in the late 1700's. Parents and children alike will be captivated by the adventures of the first American-born naturalist. This program will be presented at the W.E. Harris Center, Harris Street.
