Kids Sea Turtle Program:
Anastasia Island Branch
Friday, February 3 @ 3:30pm
We'll have special guests from the St. Johns County Environmental Department here to teach kids about sea turtles. They will have a story, coloring and some hands on material for the kids to learn about one of our very important seasonal residents . . . the sea turtle!
Teens Read with Kids: Ponte Vedra Branch
Saturday, February 4 from 10am - 12pm
Drop into the children's department to read to or be read to by a teen! The teens of Ponte Vedra High School's Book Club would love to share a book (or more!) with you! All ages of children are welcome - both those who like to read and those who want to practice their reading!

Candy Sushi: Hastings Branch
Saturday, February 4 @ 1pm
Real sushi is made out of fish, rice, and seaweed, but we'll be making ours out of sweets! Come and have fun making candy sushi with Rice Krispe treats, fruit roll-ups, and other goodies. Learn how to use chopsticks too! THis program is part of the St. Johns Reads program, this year featuring Unbroken: A World War II story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand.
Family Program, "Flight to Freedom": Southeast Branch

Presented by Howard Lewis "Xhabbo", families are invited to join us for an interactive Black History Month program featuring live percussion, poems, chants, and African folktales.
St. Johns Reads Program:
Build Your Own Victory Garden:
Main Branch - Monday, February 6 @ 4pm
WWII "war work" extended to the homefront and kids worked hard, too! Celebrate St. Johns Reads 2012 as we build our own mini Victory Gardens for kids. We'll learn all about the Victory Garden movement, plant to war-era music, decorate garden boxes with WWII posters, and recognize the valuable work that produced up to 10 million tons of produce! All supplies generously provided by the Friends of the Library and the St. Johns County Master Gardeners.
Music and Movement for Little Ones:
Hastings Branch - Tuesday, February 7 @ 10am
Almost all kids love music and movement, but did you know that participation in such activities helps brain development? Toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers are invited to join us for this active, musical program.
Kids & Teen Recycled Crafts Event:

Wednesday, February 8 @ 2:30-4:30pm
Kids and Teens are invited to join us for an afternoon of making recycled crafts! All supplies are provided by donations and the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. Just bring your imagination and a willingness to create! No registration or fees!

New Release Family Movie Event!

Kids LEGO Brick Club: Anastasia Island Branch

School is out early and you need something to do.... Come into the library to play with over 60 pounds of LEGO bricks and pieces!!!! We supply the LEGO bricks and fun ----All you need to bring is your imagination. There is no registration or fee for this program!
After School Gaming: Main Branch

School-age children, tweens, and teens choose what they want to play after school. A selection of video game choices for X-box 360, PS3, & Wii consoles will be offered. Complimentary snacks and soda will be provided. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library and Sony.
Family Game Time: Ponte Vedra Branch

On the 4th Wednesday of every month between 3 - 6 pm, the whole family is invited to the library to play board games! Simply use your library card or driver's license to check out a board game or two from the Reference Desk and play anywhere in the library. These games - for a variety of ages - include Monopoly, Connect Four, Candy Land, Scrabble, Chutes and Ladders, Uno, and many more. Challenge your family and friends to your favorite games! Finding Your Own Art:

Series of four free painting classes taught by Rama Malone for kids grades K-8. Rama will teach kids what to paint when they are not sure where to start as well as how to mix and use colors in a positive environment. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited to 25 participants.
