Therapy Dogs & READing Paws!

Learn about therapy animals and their special role as READing Paws animals to help enhance reading skills for children who are learning to love reading! Hear about several national therapy dog organizations, Delta Society, Intermountain Therapy Animals & Therapy Dogs Inc., the reading animal organization READing Paws and see an overview of how animal owners can get involved in these wonderful activities! How to Research & Write for the True Crime Market

Florida Writers Association Saturday, September 18 @ 10:15 am
McCay and Marie Vernon are co-authors of true crime novels: Deadly Lust, and their latest, Deadly Charm. They will talk about - the research that goes into writing a story based on facts, - how those facts are assembled into a book, - the publishing and marketing aspects, - and what it’s like to work in collaboration. Deadly Charm, just released, is the story of Patrick McCullough, the only known deaf serial killer. Deadly Lust, is about multiple murders committed by St. Augustine native, William Lindsey. The talk is sponsored by the Ancient City Chapter of the Florida Writer’s Association and the Main Library, St. Johns County. This program is free and open to the public.

Tweens & Teens come on over to the library after school to make some beautiful candy art, which happens to look just like sushi. The best part is that afterwards you'll get to enjoy your sweet treat while we watch some anime!!!

Join us for a special kind of yoga for babies and caregivers. We'll work through gentle poses with our babies to help relieve stress, calm fussy little ones, and bond with our babies. Around the World Films: Shichinin no Samurai

Join us on a trip to Japan with Akira Kurosawa’s epic 1954 film, Seven Samurai, which will forever be known as a milestone in motion picture history. Green Building & Remodeling Your Home in NE Florida

The North Florida Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council in cooperation with the St. Johns County Public Library are offering a free, informative program series on the advantages and incentives, including tax credits and stimulus funds, when green building and remodeling your home. Chapter members will offer an educational overview with tips and insights on the emerging dialogue and questions and answers at the end of each program.
