If you have back pain, neck pain, pinched nerves, or sciatica you need to know what you can do to help yourself and what to avoid so the problem doesn’t worsen.  This program will teach you that.  You will also learn how to make wise, individually appropriate, and cost effective treatment choices. In under an hour, Dr. Ronald D. Fudala, a Chiropractic Neurologist, will put you in the driver’s seat of your recovery. He practices with Dr. Scott Corneal, a pain management specialist, at Integrative Pain Solutions in Saint Augustine. The cost is FREE. The information PRICELESS.

Have trouble using your insurance? Have you lost a job? Had a baby? Gotten married? Lost your job insurance? A Healthcare Navigator may be able to help! The Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida provides information on how to sign up for the Health Insurance Marketplace and also how to use the insurance. Storytime

Family Storytime (ages 4-5yrs) every Tuesday @ 11:00am
Lapsit Babytime (ages 0-12mo) every Thursday @ 10:15am
Toddler Storytime (ages 1-3yrs) every Thursday @ 11:00 and 11:30am

Storytimes are hosted by Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia and they run June 4th through July 30th.

Family Storytime is for children ages 4-5 and is held in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room. This is an engaging story time featuring longer stories, songs and crafting.

Lapsit Babytime is a special storytime program designed for babies 0-12 months of age. It is a lapsit program that features songs, action rhymes, fingerplays and more for you and your baby. Come join the circle in The Randolph Caldecott Children's Room.

Toddler Time is a storytime program designed for children ages 1-3 years of age.  Join us in the Large Meeting Room for a lively program of singing, dancing and stories.

All Children's programs are supported by The Friends of Main Library St. Augustine.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED. The St. Johns Housing Partnership will present a 2 hour class designed to help families talk about money, manage their money, and build (or rebuild) good credit. The session will include how to get your credit report for free, how to get an estimated credit score for free, how your credit score is calculated, and what improves and damages your credit score. The Main Library book sale features books of all kinds of items such as DVDs, CDs, and audio books. Hardback books cost $1.00 and paperbacks cost $.50, with many children's books priced even lower. The book sale is held by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine as a fundraiser. All sale proceeds support programs and other needs of the Main Library.

Bags will be provided at the sales desk. The book sale is held by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine as a fundraiser. Silent Peace Meditation

Meditation teacher, Kathleen Roberts, will open the group with a short breathing exercise and lead us into a silent meditation, where the participants will think peace. Florida Writers Association: The Scoop on Backstory

Editor, writer, and publisher Nancy Quatrano will present The Scoop on Backstory: 10 Tips to Develop and Use it Effectively. The difference between average characters and an average manuscript can often be the difference between employing the right type and amount of back story, at the right time. We all know our characters weren’t born yesterday, and that we’re all products of our past, but how much past is too much? The workshop will include character development worksheets and a tip sheet to help you develop your “backstory muscles” so that this very important craft tool will make your work shine.

This meeting is sponsored by the Florida Writers Association/Ancient City Chapter and the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. All book sales benefit the Friends of the Library. Doors open at 10am. All meetings are free and open to the public.

Brown Bag Lunch: The American Beach Story and Museum

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Mr. Yuwnus Asami, Curator of The American Beach Museum, will tell the story of this historic district and museum on Amelia Island. The American Beach community was established in 1935 by A.L. Lewis, President of the Afro American Life Insurance Company, and designated as a historic site in 2001. Museum Curator Asami will share the history of this community, which hosted numerous celebrities, including Zora Neale Hurston, Cab Calloway, and Ray Charles, and tell guests about "Beach Lady" Ma Vynee Betsch, great-granddaughter of A.L. Lewis, co-founder of the Abraham Lincoln Lewis Historical Society, and champion for the preservation of the area.  The program is free of charge and open to the public. Bring your lunch and enjoy the program as well as light refreshments provided by the Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine. The Hour of Code

Explore computer programming for kids with the world wide Hour of Code! Teens and pre-teens can explore a basic introduction to computer science and even learn basic programming skills using popular video game characters. The lessons increase in difficulty as you move through them so come back each month to improve your skills. This one hour program is designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be guided lessons as well as individual and group exploration. You can bring your own laptop or tablet or you can borrow one of ours. Supplies are limited.
