Teen Gaming Night

Teens (Ages 13-18) are invited to have fun with friends at the library. Play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, and Nintendo Wii set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Don't worry about waiting for a turn - we'll have board games to play. Children's Book Week: Musical Storybooks presented by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra's String Quartet

Join us in celebrating Children's Book Week with a very special storytime featuring the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and Mole Music by David McPhail! Youth Services Librarian (and former clarinetist!) Anne Crawford, the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, are partnering to invite Kindergartners - 5th graders and their caregivers to celebrate the magic that is music! In culmination of the Musical Madness for Kids series, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra will present a special Musical Storybooks program for preschoolers and their families featuring children's book Mole Music by David McPhail and the String Quartet. Come get a taste of the magical world of classical music!

Please note:  the Musical Storybooks program is geared toward preschoolers. If you wish to bring younger children to any of these programs, please be mindful of the decorum expected for everyone's enjoyment. This special music series is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.


Teen Movie Club

MovieTuesday, May 12 from 5pm - 7:30pm

Teens (Ages 13 - 18 ONLY) are invited to join us at our new Movie Club featuring primarily book-to-movie adaptations! Bring your friends, chow down on pizza and sodas, and let us know if the movie lived up to the book. You don't have to read the book to come, but the books are all available in the library. We will be watching the first movie in the Pitch Perfect series starring Anna Kendrick in anticipation of Pitch Perfect 2 which releases on May 15 in theatres. This movie is based on a book (non-fiction):  Pitch Perfect: The quest for collegiate a cappella glory by Mickey Rapkin. Ponte Vedra Forum - John and Whitney Spinks

Featured on HGTV’s Flipping the Block, this couple will bring their hard-earned expertise and wealth of ideas to the library for a special presentation.  They will provide design and remodeling tips, and share behind-the-scenes secrets from Flipping the Block, as well as show off some of their favorite before and after photos.  This program is made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

Free Nemours BrightStart Screenings for Ages 3 - 5

Thursday, May 14 from 10am - 12:30pm 

childrenChildren ages 3 - 5 are invited to receive a free, 10-minute Early Literacy Screening at the library, courtesy of Nemours BrightStart. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-serve basis by a Nemours representative. Utilize this free screening to find out where your child's literacy strengths lie, and what you can do to help them improve in any other areas before they start school.


Adventures in Art: Tour of Cummer Museum & Lunch

LEGO Club for Tweens

Tweens in 4th - 7th grades (ages 9 - 13) are invited to the library for an afternoon of building with Legos and hanging out! No registration is necessary and it's free. Thanks to our Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library for providing the Legos for this very special program just for Tweens, including our pink Legos. Tween girl Lego lovers, we want you to join our club, too. All young LEGO lovers, please enjoy our brand-new LEGO table in the Children's Department, purchased by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, so that this special program may just be for the Tweens!

May "Just for Babies" and Family Storytimes

storytimeBird Island Park's Ms. Suzanne and Ms. Gail present programs for little ones at the library!

Just for Babies - Held Thursdays, May 14 and May 28 at 10:15am; for babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. This infant lapsit is designed for one-on-one interaction between caregiver and baby. Families with multiple children are encouraged to attend Family Storytime.

Family Storytime - Held every Thursday morning in May at 11am; for children 16 months - 5 years and their families, though no child will be turned away. For more information on system-wide library storytimes, please go here. Please note:  May 7 at 11 am is our special Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra program for preschoolers, Musical Storybooks!
