RSS Explanation

What is RSS (Really Simple Syndication or RDF Site Summary) and how can it be used? What RSS Isn’t

RSS is not email (though if you choose, some readers will email your information to you). It is not a way for people to send you unsolicited information. By choosing to keep track of information, you are in control of what you see and when you see it. You can subscribe or unsubscribe at any time.

How do I use RSS?

If you have not already set up an RSS News Reader, you will have to choose one. RSS news readers allow you to view the service(s) you select all together in the same place and, by automatically retrieving updates, stay current with new content soon after it is published.

How do I get RSS Services?

To subscribe, right-click on one of the RSS feed icons in the box on the right and select “Copy Shortcut” or “Copy Link Location” to copy the location (URL) of the service. Follow the instructions for your particular news reader, and paste this link wherever it asks for the location of the service you wish to subscribe to.
