Teen Movie EventTeen Movie & Pizza Event: Anastasia Island
Wednesday, December 31 @ 1pm

Teens (11-18) can come into the library to eat some pizza and watch a newly released movie about a group of space criminals who must work together to stop the fanatical villain, Ronan the Accuser, from destroying the galaxy. The pizza is sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library. (PG13)

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishigura is a mysterious sci-fi puzzle. The narrator is Kathy, a "carer" of patients recovering from organ donation. Traveling back in her memory, Kathy revisits her school and her childhood and teen relationships. We gradually learn of the bizarre origin of her life and purpose. Join us for snacks and discussion.

Learn about the science of bubbles. Why are bubbles round? What causes colors in bubbles? Why does soap help make bubbles? Plus, see how big of a bubble you can make with our giant bubble makers. And, you can make your own bubble maker to take home.

Play "E" and "T"-rated games on our PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo Wii, or X-Box 360 set up on three TVs for simultaneous playing. Don't worry about waiting for a turn - we'll have board games to play. Snacks will be provided. Human TraffickingHuman Trafficking Seminar for Adults and Teens

Modern day slavery is a huge human rights problem. According to the United Nations, over 27 million people in the world are enslaved. Please join us for an eye-opening seminar presented by St. Augustine resident Sarah Symons, founder of Made by Survivors, an international charity helping survivors of human trafficking and slavery to rebuild their lives with education, employment, and entrepreneurship.

are invited to join our new Movie Club featuring primarily book-to-movie adaptations. Bring your friends, chow down on pizza and sodas, and let us know if the movie lived up to the book. You don't have to read the book to come, but the books are all available in the library. Kicking off this new event will be a recent book-to-movie adaptation (rated PG-13) based off the first book in The Maze Runner series by James Dashner.
